i got my first ticket today and the officer took my lisence away. do they usually do that? and if so, how do i get it back?
it wasn't a major thing, i guess i turned left after the light had turned red. so anyone who has expirenced this, or has any input, any answers will help!

Your citation is your license for now. You'll get your license back in court.

yes they keep your license as a form of bond for you to either pay the fine or show up for court as soon as you pay the ticket your license will be mailed back to you.

It does not constitute reckless driving as one dummy on here said. It is failure to obey a traffic control device. Reckless driving is only for things like going 31+ over the speed limit and offenses like that. Dont listen to him.

You can still fight the ticket in court, but until you either pay the ticket or have your day in court your citation acts as your proof of driving privelges.

Yes, turning left after the red light constitute reckless driving and a serious traffic violation. Anyway, you can pay the fine and get your license back. You can check the ticket/citation as to where you can claim it. DRIVE SAFE NEXT TIME.

Pay the fine to get back your license and it is the only choice.
