The constitution guarantees the right to bear arms correct?

which is nothing more than the right to protect oneself, wouldn't it be implied that we also have the right to not protect oneself....whether it be by guns, knives or any other device that by using it would protect ourselves. so then why is it by law we have to buckle our seatbelts or we get a ticket. isn't that against our constitutional rights to opt not to protect ourselves?

I was going 30 over the speed limit but the cop was nice. He said, he didn't give me a speeding ticket but he gave me a minor offense. He also said, plead NOT guilty and then mail it in and you wont see me ever again. I dont get it??

It says "Complaint Ticket" and all it says on the ticket where it says "INFRACTIONS/VIOLATIONS" - STC and the date and the amount is $75

1. What is STC?
2. What happens when i mail the ticket not guilty?
3. How big of an offense is this?
4. Will it increase my insurance?

We have an "issue" here. I recall hearing years ago that a man with a knife is considered deadly and you can shoot him if he's within 10', or maybe it was 20'. Anyone know for sure? I'm in AZ, if that makes a difference.

Thanks for any input you have!

My friend is currently paying child support to for his 6 yr old (has been paying since she was born). At one point in time, his child's mother needed money to purchase a car. He let her borrow $2500 to purchase the car under the stipulation that she would be paying it back in good faith and in a timely manner. About 5 years have passed. In that time, she has purchased a house and another car, but he still has not been paid back all of the money. Through the arguments and years, she has paid back approx. $500. Can he sue her for the remaining monies owed, though he is currently obligated to pay her every month?

I say that he can, as this money was loaned outside of the child support agreement and he has proof that is was a loan. He's unsure, as a judge told him that he couldn't during a separate court proceeding that involved review of his monthly payment.

If anyone has any legal advice or has experienced this, please post all info. Greatly appreciated!

Is it better to kill them, or wound them. One shot seems to be enough to stop a assailant. But one shot is often not fatal.
From a legal stand point. assuming that all things are right and I was in fear for my life and the assailant had present ability to kill or greatly harm me.

People have asked me, “Why do you wait two to three seconds after stopping completely (the car feels like it rolled back after braking) at a four way stop sign interception when you know there are no cars?” My answer is that I am just following the law. I neither want to be involved in an accident or receive a roll stop (pause) ticket. I know that it is a hassle, but I always tell others you could never be too sure if a reckless drunk decides to run a stop sign. Also, what happens if there is a cop hiding around the corner?

Now, my question is: personally, do you stop completely because:

(a) you feel it is the law
(b) you are trying to be alert (watching for careless people that run stop signs)
(c) you are checking to see if no cop are hiding around the corner

A few days ago some guy called my house asking for me (first and last name), I was at work, my mom asked who it was, they said "the police", she asked what it was regarding, they said "police business", she told them I was not home and they made the "huh" sound and said they would call back. That was over 5 days ago.

A week before that I got a call form a police donation assocaition, and said I would contribute some money.

Do you think it was them who called because the did not recieved my payment? I do not think it was a prank, b/c my name and number are unlisted.

Up to this point I still have no clue if it really was the police? or the donation agency I sent money to.

** Does anyone think the police calls people's house without even leaving what name or department they are calling from?

Opinions?

(Discloser) 99.% of Police are the best men & women this country has to offer (IMO)

However, my sister marreid a police officer 15 years ago. After years of physical & emotional abuse she filed for divorce, thank God everyone has urged her to. The problem is she has been pulled over by police (his friends) around 20 times in the past 3 Months, she is never cited, they say:saftey check. She has even been pulled over right in front of her work to embarrass her. Then she has to hear a long speech why she should leaven Jim alone (court stuff). My parents still live in this town and went to the police station to complain (100% worthless), when my parents left the station they were pulled over by 3 police cars. They made them stand on the curb in 90 degree weather while they pulled everything out of their car including the spare tire...they said "saftey check", then my 78 year old father put eveything back in the car that they left on the ground (not cited). We don't trust anyone.

Wondering...

Lets say you stupidly lend your license plate to someone to use on their car. If they did something illegal, like drive with a suspended license or something. Would you get in trouble since your plates are under your name in the vehicle that the illegal act occurred?
If so, what would punishment be??

In all those commercials ranging from just a few years ago to present both for "drinking and driving" and "clicket ot ticket", I was just wondering if women have never done either of these two driving flaws. Are women perfect drivers? Has there not been a single woman behind the wheel drunk or without her seat belt on reported anywhere across the country in the last few years? The reason I ask this is because with these two different types of commercials over the past few years, all I've seen in these commercials has the been a guy behind the wheel, not a single girl. I'm a guy and I', 28 years old and I never once driven drunk or been driving without my seatbelt on.(I've been driving a slow, piece of crap 1998 white Camaro with a stinkin' 200 hp.)
