The notice does not clarify that he didn't get the job. The notice did show that he'd once got a class "C" misdameanor for racing on the highway. So, recieving that letter does that ALWAYS mean you don't get the job?

Well... Let's think about this logically...

An ADVERSE notice would be a notice saying he didn't get the job... I would suppose a PRE-ADVERSE notice would be a notice telling him they found information he didn't disclose... or information they want to further review.. and that there is the chance he could receive an ADVERSE notice... If they investigate and find he either lied to them about his criminal history or if the offense is something they won't allow... say, if he's trying to get a job as a driver for the company... a misdemeanor driving offense would probably preclude him from that.

I recommend your boyfriend call the Human Resources department and talk to them about what this is all about... I also recommend he start being honest when applying for jobs...

Why not call the Human Resouces Dept. at the company and find out exactly what it means? That would be the logical thing to do!
