Your license plate is registered to your vehicle ~ why would you "lend" it to someone else? And I don't care what their circumstances are, it is ILLEGAL. You are asking for trouble in more ways than one.

Not sure what the punishment would be because it would depend on the state and what they actually did. But yes you could get in trouble. Just the act of giving someone your plate to use is illegal. If they did something like rob a bank or worse... can you say accessory?

At the least youd be involved for the illegal activity of lending them your plates.
At the least, it would be clear you knew they were driving illegally because their vehicle did not have plates. Unless you knew why they needed plates other than their own, in which case youre an accomplice to the crime in addition to the license plate issues.

If the person with your plates and tags gets pulled over they would get a ticket and so would you. It would be like stealing a car. It's a car with the wrong license plate on it. You both would get in trouble. Probably more you, because lent your plate to someone.

Actually, at least in MI, getting caught with any plate not belonging to the car it's attached to can result in more fines. It might even be a case of the PD calling it a stolen plate.
Next time, don't ever lend your plate out. For any reason. They are attached to certain cars for certain reasons. That would avoid all of this. If it's too late though, check with Legal Aid. They give free legal advice, I think.

Oh, you would be in trouble, and so would they. They would be driving with a fraudulant plate, you would be an accessory to that.
Not to mention the actual infractions that they did, like the suspended license. If I were you, I would call a lawyer. They will be able to deal with the laws in the city/county/state where you live.
Good luck, and don't do that again!

The absolutely free reverse vin check sites generally provide fake information. To get real information, money will have to be paid. The free searches provide fake information so they can get your email address to send spam.
Stay away from shady reverse vin check sites, most likely you won't get any information after you make the payment. Not to mention you won't get a report and you won't get an answer if you try to call for a refund. Stick with a reputable reverse vin check site like http://www.reversevincheck.net that has been around since 1995.

The person driving with your plate would be charged with improper registration and the plate would be confiscated. Then you'd have to explain to the DMV why you needed another plate because you let someone else use it. That's the very LEAST that could happen.

It is unlawful to allow someone to use YOUR care plates on their car.
It's going to go on your driving record and you will have to pay a hefty fine. The may in some states suspend your drivers license and even force you to re-register your car.

Yes you can both get into trouble. If you like driving I wouldn't let your crack head friend borrow your plates. Common sense is a beautiful thing.
