I was going 30 over the speed limit but the cop was nice. He said, he didn't give me a speeding ticket but he gave me a minor offense. He also said, plead NOT guilty and then mail it in and you wont see me ever again. I dont get it??

It says "Complaint Ticket" and all it says on the ticket where it says "INFRACTIONS/VIOLATIONS" - STC and the date and the amount is $75

1. What is STC?
2. What happens when i mail the ticket not guilty?
3. How big of an offense is this?
4. Will it increase my insurance?

I know i have to go to court... But the cop said specifically " I AM NOT giving you a speed ticket, I am giving you a minor offense".. So does that mean they dont have my records of speeding. Will the judge know what speend i was doing?

The STC is not as one poster has said.

STC is "State Traffic Commission."

If you mail in the ticket and plead "not guilty" you are, by default, demanding a hearing/trial. I am not sure why the officer told you to plead 'not guilty' because it would lead me to believe he was telling you that because he is trying to tell you he won't appear the day of your hearing/trial and therefore the court will have to dismiss the charge against you since that officer is not there to defend why he gave the ticket.

1.A Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) is a document issued by the Federal Aviation Administration approving a product (aircraft, engine, or propeller) modification. The STC defines the product design change, states how the modification affects the existing type design, and lists serial number effectivity. It also identifies the certification basis listing specific regulatory compliance for the design change. Information contained in the certification basis is helpful for those applicants proposing subsequent product modifications and evaluating certification basis compatibility with other STC modifications.
2.If you don't mail in the ticket not guilty you will have to go to court.

And that is all i know

I agree with Queen and Steve. I have worked in the traffic division. If one pleads not guilty, then they are set for an infraction hearing and you plead your case to the judge. It is weird that he told you to plead not guilty. Usually they don't make those kind of comments. Yes if he doesn't show up, your case is dropped. But he will get heck from his sargeant for not showing up. You will get points assessed to your driving record and it is not predictable what your insurance company will do.

Slow down and don't get another one!! Remember, you get too many points and the State suspends your license.

Considering the situation you describe is not possible in my state, the only thing I can answer is number 4. If you receive ANY type of ticket, your insurance company WILL find out. Even if the ticket is dismissed, the record of its issue still appears. You insurance company will determine if your rates are increased.

your lucky. s/he was being extremely nice. the officer was prolly in an area where the chief said to give everyone a ticket. IE a high volume traffic area. this was his way of letting you off easy

it doesn't seem to be a big offense if it's 75 dls
if you send it in not guilty your just paying for it and that's that
and i dont think it will do anything to your insurance
