Misdemeanor assaults up to one year....felony assaults up to three years.

Thing to remember...the longer you wait to file....the more inclined the judge is to believe you didn't think the issue important enough to file immediately...therefore the court will take the same attitude as you did!

If you were assaulted....file the charge and stop the victimization.

Immidiately if you want the charges to be taken seriously.

Also depends if the assult is with a weapon, you have no time limit but burden of proof is on you.
