I may have been going MAYBE 83, but he said I was going 98! Thats in a 70! He took away my license and I have a court date coming up, I know there are ways to prove that you aren't guilty, I just don't know them. Please help.

I live in AZ, and I don't want to fly all the way out to jersey to correct it. But at the same time I don't want to have a warrant placed against me.

I believe they should. this would reduce the crime rate. Even though people may believe that this is invasion of privacy it could save many lives from being lost and a decline in crime.

Whenever you get pulled over for any reason they take some sort of identification and go back to their cars. Yet it seems to take 5-10 minutes every time. I was just wondering what exactly they were doing.

I'm 18 years old and I live in Las Vegas. Recently my car was searched by police and a bong was found. I have a court date coming up for possession of narcotics paraphernalia.

I've got the option to waive my appearance for 600 dollars, and I'm wondering if it would be worth it to save the money from court costs and possible probation costs, as well as the penalties I could face if I'm convicted.

If I am convicted, am I facing a slap on the wrist, or probation, community service, etc?

STATESBORO, GEORGIA - A father was seriously injured and his son was killed Tuesday when a rental trailer they were towing was rear-ended on Interstate 16 by a police officer who specializes in nabbing aggressive drivers and who was en route to Chatham County to take part in a safe-driving campaign, officials said.

Cpl. Robert Balkcom, an assistant commander of the Georgia State Patrol post in Statesboro, said no charges have been filed yet, but they are likely, against Dougherty County Police Officer Jeremiah Fenn, 25, of Albany.

Officer Fenn was headed to Chatham County to take part in Operation Rolling Thunder, a 90-day effort to curb Savannah’s rising traffic fatality rate with the help of scores of officers from around the state.

Officer Fenn was driving eastbound near Metter when he took his eyes off the road for a second to look at the computer mounted in his car and struck a trailer being towed by an SUV traveling in the same direction and in the same lane, Cpl. Balkcom said.

The video camera in Officer Fenn’s car, which could have recorded the accident, was turned off, Cpl. Balkcom said.

The SUV overturned several times, ejecting Milton Wilcox, 33, of Savannah, a passenger who was not wearing a seat belt, police said.

Mr. Wilcox was pronounced dead at the scene. His father, William Wilcox, 57, of Savannah, the driver, was airlifted to Savannah’s Memorial Health University Medical Center with serious injuries, Cpl. Balkcom said.

A two-mile eastbound stretch of the interstate was closed for about six hours while members of the Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team investigated the accident, Cpl. Balkcom said.

Witnesses told authorities that Officer Fenn’s police car was “traveling at a high rate of speed,” an issue that will be addressed by the investigation, Cpl. Balkcom said.

“There will more than likely be charges,” he said.

Officer Fenn is a participant in a statewide program known as Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic (H.E.A.T.), a collaborative effort of the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety and eight local law enforcement agencies to nab aggressive drivers.

I heard that a friend is dead through the rumor mill yesterday.
Would the coroners office of medical examiner's office be able to provide me with this information. The person has no family locally and I don't know how to reach them. It would have happened over the weekend. There will probably be no obit in the paper since he was here alone and it is too soon for the death certificate.I really need to find out if it is true.

I went to a nightclub with a few friends. I parked in the club parking lot, got out of my suv, and opened the back passenger door. My friend had a blue plastic cup of vodka and orange juice that was almost empty. I was preparing to throw the drink on the ground when a cop driving by in the parking lot stopped and asked what was in the cup. I said "nothing", left the cup in the suv, and closed the door. The cop got out and asked me again, I said I don't know. He cuffed me and 3 cops searched my vehicle. They found the alcohol (which my buddy was drinking, not myself nor did I smell of any alcohol) and gave me a citation for open alcohol in public. Would this be an illegal search? I would think that anyone can have a plastic cup in their car without having their vehicle searched for suspicion of an alcohol violation. Can the cops claim because it was on private property that they were contracted to security for that they can search anyone/anything at any time? Thanks.

I dont want to say that any crime is a minor one... but say, for example, driving without a license or with a suspended license, driving while intoxicated, etc.

Is there a list of typical, average, or maximum court ordered penalties?

Ever since my parents can remember, i've been wanting to be a cop or wanting to go into law enforcement. Watching Cops with my dad at the age of 6 , all my toy cars were police vehicles, and i dreamed of being a police officer, fbi agent, or something related with law enforcement.

Now im at the age of 15, going to be a sophmore at high school, and its almost time to decide my career path. My family is middle-high class and im a teenage boy.

Now my dad has left overseas as he owns a company and had to move with them. I am left with my uncle and mother.
They tell me soooo much that i am not allowed to go into law enforcement, that i will get killed, that im an only child. The main reason is the pay. My family is sort of wealthy and they say you can barely make ends meet being a cop. Im not neccesarily looking to be a cop, maybe being a cop while i do my bachelors then apply for being a fbi agent..

how do i approach my family?

I understand you are an idiot so I'll use little words. 1st, the highways are NOT a NASCAR track, you may want to risk your own life but who do you risk everyone elses life who go the speed limit, DON'T HONK or flash your lights because others obey the LAW. Listen carefully...when you are merging on to the highway it's NOT the people driving on the highway to get out of your way..YOU have to wait and get into traffic...it's not a race. Don't blame others who obey the legal speed limits. Today I buried a friend because of a rude truck driver who plowed into the rear of his car, 4 eye witnesses seen the trucker TAILGATING him for 5 miles because my friend DARED to drive 65 in a 65, the trucker was charged...I can't wait to be there at the trial...of course with his family, wife and 3 small children who NO LONGER HAVE THEIR FATHER
because of a JERK.

I was arrested while eating my evening meal , Handcuffed and walked down the high street in full view of all the hotel guests to the station.
I was then ordered to strip and was given a very small track suit to wear and some enormous black plimsoles. Obviously a joke at my expense.
They then took me into a room where i had to strip again while they conducted degrading tests on me.
They took samples of skin from my scalp
Removed clumps of hair, by yanking them out
Scraped my finger nails
Ripped my pubic hair out.
held and swabbed my penis
Then forced a swab approximately 1 inch inside my penis.
I was then left in a cell for a further 15 hours.
Finally managed to see my soliciter when
there was a knock at the door and the DCI told my soliciter I was free to go.
I asked if they had caught the bastard , he smiled .
My soliciter then told me the girl had made up the story !!!
I feel i was the one that was raped.
She wasnt charged
What can I do!!!!
Its seriously damaged me
