If I enter another person's email account without his permission although he give me the password and I deleted some emails related to myself. And we were friends at that time, it was 3 months ago. But now we kind of had some fighting, and he used this to threat me. He said I intruded his privacy. I want to know the statute of limitation on this kind of cases, how long does he have the right to sue me or can potentially harm me? by the way, his email account is his university's email account,he is a student of that university. Although he gave me the password, but I still think I will get trouble if he really sue me. what kind of law applies to this in Canada and how long the law applies from the time the incident happened? Is there any law people from canada? Any of your help and response will be highly appreciated!

In my area, young drivers are driving at 70mph in a 40mph or 30mph zone and crashing. Then all of a sudden, speed bumps go up, road signs appear everywhere and the speed is restricted to 20mph. Why do the majority suffer low speed limits to kids who will continue to do 70mph. Rather than be 30 to 40mph over the speed limit, they're now 50mph over and we have reduced down?

Just remember to refuse to eat your PB&J and bologna sandwiches, weep and wail all night and day, and complain bitterly about your bedding (a lack of high-thread-count sheets is a life threatening condition), and then demand to see your psychiatrist because you insist you're having a nervous breakdown. I wonder if anyone ever tried this in Alcatraz (Did you ever see the movie, MURDER IN THE FIRST?).

Not for me, but for my husband. He has a total of 14 points on licence for driving without insurance twice about 2 years ago. He has now been pulled over again for same reason although he did have insurance bank cancelled direct debits so insurance hadn't been paid... Does it look like disqualification?

51-Year-Old Woman Mistakenly Jailed For Nine Days
POSTED: 5:47 pm EDT June 6, 2007
UPDATED: 11:10 am EDT June 7, 2007

KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- A 51-year-old Kissimmee woman was thrown in jail for nine days all because of a case of mistaken identity. She went to the police station to get fingerprinted for a new job and that's when her troubles started.

A lawsuit filed in circuit court alleges false imprisonment of a woman who was seeking a simple request from her local police department.

Maria Carrasquillo moved from Puerto Rico to Central Florida in 1994. She had never been in trouble with the law, until March 2005. That's when she visited Kissimmee police to voluntarily get her fingerprints taken. She needed that done to apply for work as a licensed practical nurse.

Instead of it being a brief visit, Carrasquillo was arrested for an outstanding warrant. A woman in New York City, with the same name, was wanted on drug-related charges.Carrasquillo spent nine days in the county jail before someone at the Kissimmee Police Department checked the identity of the New York suspect and realized they didn't match.

The lawsuit alleges it took months before the court dismissed the case. The officer, who made the arrest, Anthony Bosworth, is no longer with Kissimmee police. Eyewitness News checked and his personnel file said he was a competent employee, but resigned in May 2005. That was two months after Carrasquillo's arrest and less than two years after he was hired as a patrol officer.

Carrasquillo's lawyer said a language barrier may have made things worse the day of the arrest.

"If they had done a background check, brought in a Spanish speaking person, anything would have revealed they had the wrong person," said attorney Mike Smith.

The lawsuit also accuses the city of having an inadequate system of reviewing its charging affidavits. Eyewitness News spoke with the city of Kissimmee's attorney, Don Smallwood, who only said, "The city defends these cases vigorously."

My question is this. My friend has a capias warrant out for his arrest in Ohio for nonpayment of child support and missing his last court date. I believe he is behind almost $10,000, which is what his bond is set at. He plans on turning himself in. What is the typical length of jail time for this? Will they keep him until the next hearing is scheduled? He lives 2 hours from the county his warrant was issued in so he called the sheriff's office in that county. They told him to turn himself in where he is residing, but that the warrant is not in the LEADS system (?) (we're not sure what that is) and that the police department here would have to call the Sheriff's department where the warrant was issued to verify the warrant so he can get picked up and taken there. Does this mean that the warrant does not extend out of the county it was issued in? Sorry...we're just a little confused!

Well I see so many comments here from people who think prisoners have a great time in prison, I wonder why they don't do something to get a long sentence.
What would you dislike about prison, if you wouldn't enjoy going?

my wife has been planning to divorce me for a long time, so i have been told and due to an argument with our son where she felt it right to intervene i pushed her away leaving a bruise on her arm. She called the police. The argument carried on over the week end -our son pays nothing towards the house and has been working for the last 12 months. This time i pushed my son away as he was being really rude etc. The police were called again and i was arrested and given restraining order. I can no longer go to my house or do anything which involves them. I can't get my clothes or even my shaving equipment, i have no money hardley. What can i do, i feel such a victim in this. Thanks in advance

I was under the impression that celebrities are treated just like everyone else. Now, I just read that Paris is out of jail due to unspecified illness. Well, get a doctor for her. Don't they think that the other inmates get sick, of course, but I don't see them being released. She probably freaked out, called her family and they paid alot to get her out. Wish I had parents like hers.

During WW2 all had ID cards including children, I saw no problems unless you had something to hide. Interviews on TV with citizens of France Recently have said they consider it a National DutyTo carry Id cards. As criminals Fraudsters and terrorists have changed their appearance by minor surgery, make up, wigs, platform shoes, clothes? uniforms (even police) specs, dressing as women. they often use different names at different times. Operating in various parts of the country and abroad. ID cards would give us more prorection. What do you think.

and of course I was dropping my son off on a side street where the curb is marked red...was she video taping us so she can send us a ticket? And if so, How can I contest it since there is virtually NO parking or drop off sites available for the school? (we live in a highly populated area of southern CA) The school recently decided there would be no drop off at another location of the school where I normally dropped him off previously...

Are there laws against a man over-defending himself from a woman? Similar to the notion that if you self-defend with a gun against a knife, you have the advantage of further range and can be punished?
This has to do with the fact that my son has been raised on his father's time to beleive that:
A man can and should hit back as hard as need be when attacked by a female, even to a small degree.
Now most men I know feel that it is wrong to ever hit a woman, although restraining a woman to the point that she bruises herself while struggling is perfectly fine.
Self-defense, then, consists of doing just that.
Now, if we're talking about an Amazon woman attacking the artist Formerly and Now Once Again Known as Prince,
hey, you know what?
I'll throw this rule out, too!
But before I go trying to tell my twelve-year-old to change his views about women before he dates (and hurts someone!), I'd like to know if there are real-life consequences, to bolster my argument. Thanks!

My son was pulled over for faulty equipment on his car. After the tickets were written the office said he acted nervous (who wouldn't) then asked to search his car and him. He had 1/2 oz of pot on him and now will be going to court for that. Several of his friends say that was entrapment and should get a lawyer. I think he just needs to go to court and admit his guilt. We live in Virginia. Any ideas or suggestions?

When a finger was suspiciously broken within an hour after I left, the nursing home did not report it to the police. Instead, the head nurse called me in and told me that I was prohibited from questioning the staff about it and that the two nursing assistants who were on duty were her "stars." I was afraid to report it for fear of further harm being done. The 18k wedding ring also disappeared in that nursing home and was replaced with a gold filled ring which the staff brought out from the back room and represented as belonging to the patient.

Heres the situation, the police respond to a domestic disturbance, a couple somewhat prone to such conflict. And during a search of their apartment find three marijuana joints in the husbands pants pocket. They reside in Arizona and he is looking at three years, apparently hes had afew non violent drug related convictions in California. Does this sound a bit extreme. And why were the police searching a pair of pants that were'nt even being worn ? Bear in mind this is intially a domestic dispute. Any info on this search and sentence length ??
