Seems like a good idea for a repeat offender. I wouldn't be in favor of it the first offense, because there are people that are convicted falsely. Repeat and/or child offenders should be considered. My thought is, even if they are castrated, would they offend using another method. Castration might remove the ability, but not the desire.

The question misses the point. Rape isn't about sex, it's about power. Castration does not work.
One true case I am aware of is of a man who received a long sentence for a rape. He released on the understanding that he was chemically castrated which he agreed to. He was subsequently convicted for raping a woman with a tree branch.

Firstly, castration is not proven to work. Men who are inable to perform sexually for a number of reasons (e.g. age or impotence) have repeatedly sexually offended.
As a means of preventing re-offending it is based on a flawed premise that the offender is purely biologically driven to offend rather than being driven by a more complex set of emotional, psychological and social needs and learned behaviours. It also diminishes the responsibility of the offender who may then assert "it was my gonads wot made me do it", when in fact it was entirely their choice.
As a means of punishment, the UK do not condone or sanction mutilation of it's inhabitants however repugnant their actions and this is a position that I completely support.

We where having this talk in class the other day, and a friend of mine came up with a very interesting idea...'instead of testing new medicines on animals, use child molestors instead'...the end result may indeed mean that something falls off!!! :o)

Erectile Dysfunction can be devastating to men, and unfortunately, millions of men suffer from the condition. Learn how to cure erectile dysfunction https://tr.im/QSIJU
If you go to the doctor to talk about the issue, you’re likely to get put on one or more of the popular medications used to treat the condition. While they can be effective (temporarily), these medications come with a raft of side effects, some of which are decidedly unpleasant. Even worse, these medications aren’t really a cure, they’re more like a temporary workaround.
Worst of all, they tend to be really expensive. Month after month, you’re having to pay to work around your condition. That’s what the Big Pharmaceutical companies want.

im not going to be very popular with this answer but no i dont think they should be. i believe that rapists and child molesters have mental issues. This is not normal behaviour and believe some people do these things as they have no control over their urges.
chemical castration removes their basic human right of being sexual beings. What next, chop off all pick pockets hands or cut out the tongues of those people who spout offensive babble? sound like a decent society to you?

ok. i've got faith that intercourse offenders are mentally sick. So by utilising chemically castrating them you're removing their intercourse force, no longer treating the psychological ailment, or fixing the situation in any respect. i've got faith that intercourse offenders are compelled to dedicate those acts, i don't experience that it has to do with a sexual prefer all jointly.

your name sounds familiar..........
Mr hypothetical.
any way that aside, it's been proved that chemical castration does not work, rusty knife or not.
pervs just turn to sicker forms of abuse to get their kicks.
the only permanent & sure fire way to put a paedophile or a serious sex-offender out of action, is with the death penalty.
advances in DNA technology, eye-witness accounts, a confession & with a mountain of proof beyond any reasonable doubt, put them out of their misery.
it would be cheaper & safer for our society.
