Law Enforcement & Police - June 2007

Some tool in a jeep almost rammed into the back of me this morning in a 30mph street, he was doin like 60 weaving in and out of a crowded 2 lane road. Im sick of it, Im going to mount fore/aft cameras and start giving police a nice video of these idiots..is it evidence enough to have them busted?!?

If it is dismissed after completing a continuance without finding. Will it remain in the record? If a job makes a record check up will it show up? Will a person have to mark yes if applying for a job? Will it be an obstacle to get to college or receive financial help? What are some of the pros and cons of it? Is there such a thing as appealing for a clean up later on and could this be taken off the record?

Very important..

If you're going 81 mph in a 45 zone in georgia and you have about 10 previous tickets (all speeding) spread out over the last five years, what is probably going to happen to you??

Happened to a close friend of mine. He was arrested on the spot and spent just the night in jail. had his court date this week and was told to get a lawyer because the max sentence was a fine plus 5 yrs in jail!

No he wasn't intoxicated nor did he have a suspended license or anything else. only i think they may have tagged him for reckless drivng as well.
From the sounds of it what is his 'punishment' probably going to be (appx) mostly just worried about the jail time!!
His court date isn't till next month..

I actually have to sit there everytime to prove my innocense by sitting there for 3 days to see a judge for him to kick me lose, and the first time I actually was incarcerated for eight and a half months and get found not guilty by a judge. The reason for all of this would be one that I will withhold, but...

What the CRAP is that about..staff denies her treatment, bystanders call 911 and are told by dispatcher over the phone that it's not an emergency..they run to police/security station at hospital and they run her name and ID and arrest her on outstanding warrant..haul her to unit in wheelchair and scream at her to get into the car while she's unconcious and then she DIES?????

ok this what happend i turned in to a street but made it lil wide so i went down the street and parked n shut the car off as i got out the cop pulles up and puts his spot light on the car but he never said nothing he walked up to me n said i am pulling u over . ok then he accused me of being drunk just cause my yes were red n glossy . i had nothing to drink i even did a breath test n blew 000, then the officer that said he pulled me over handed the stuff over to another officer that wasnt even there . so what i am asking did he still have the rite to give me a ticket

My soon to be ex-husband use to work for several EMS companies. He misused one of their gas cards, and was sent to jail and has a felony for it. Now he is telling me that a few of his friends who are directories for the EMS department are allowing him to take course to become a Paramedic. My ex-husband has a history of child abuse also. It scares me that these friends of his who are directories of EMS are allowing him to get back into the field. With my ex husband having a felony can he become a Paramedic.

I've been threatened by my psycho drug user ex-stripper neighbor yesterday and called the cops on her. It took them 30 minutes to get here. She almost broke into my house and I was ready to grab a knife to defend myself (since she's insane and bigger than me). I had never been thru this kind of crazy situation before. I live in the best neighborhood and have the worst neighbor ever! What if I had killed her in self-defense, would I have gone to jail?

I live in a good neighborhood (gated community), but there has been a rash of robberies in our area. The police are aware that there are three teenage gangs behind the crimespree and are trying to apprehend them. However, I know that when I am with my 3 yr old and 11 mo old, I am a sitting duck! Whether or not I'm at home or shopping, someone can easily mug me. Although I'm scrappy, I can't run away, b/c I have my kids with me. Any suggestions on what I should do? I've thought about taking self-defense classes and even carrying a gun. I know how to shoot a .22 with good accuracy, but know that statistically I'm more likely to shoot myself! I have mace, but it usually isn't where I need it.

Many of you are going to read this and call me stupid but here it is. My ex boy friend thought that I was cheating on him (which he came to find out later that I didn't) that was after he came to my house destroyed over 5 thousand dollars worth of things. Including my 50 inch big screen. Then proceeded to slap me. I filed a police report but didn't follow up on it, because like some people ( people I use to call stupid) I blamed myself. I no longer feel that way, I think he should have to pay financially and criminally for what he did. Since its about 2 months so long do you think I could get compensation for the damages? I have a witness who saw him hit me and break all those things. I just dont know if its too late.
