Say that someone owes you a lot of money for back child support (like $60,000) so that debt is recorded 'officially', how could you put a lein on a property that person owns?

I was arrested for failure to appear for a littering ticket. I got this ticket 4 years ago when I was 17. I'm 21 now. They came to my house and arrested me in the middle of dinner. I had to pay $245.50 to get out of jail. I was just wondering if this is legal because I was under age when I "failed to appear".

Here is my problem. I signed up for the no call list last year. But lately I have been getting a repeated phone call from 1-888-492-4099.
When I answer a man's voice says, "hello". If I say hello then a recording will come on telling me about some credit card or something.
I cannot tell them to take me off of their call list because it is a recording. When I re-dial the number, an operator comes in and tells me that the number is disconnected.
I am ferious about this and don't know where to turn to make the phone calls stop. I get one to two phone calls from this recording a day.
Can anyone tell me what to do?

is it true that for certain driving offences ( such as driving with undue care and attention) the police must send you a letter within 14 days? does this include weekends?

I parked in a side street off a main road. I was parked near the end of a road where it meets the main road and received a parking fine. I have parked here nearly every day for months and this is the first fine I have received. There were no yellow lines, there were no signs explaining any parking rules and I had left plenty of space at the end of the road so that any passers by wishing to cross the side street did not have to walk around my car to do so.

Can I appeal againts this parking fine?

When I was 13 I was caught shop-lifting (naughty I know) and arrested by the police. Basically I was not charged (well I don't think I was), but I received what was known as a 'black mark' on my record - which basically was described as a temporary criminal record which lasted 5 years. What I want to know is, if I apply for a job and they do a police check will this incident become known to my potential employer? Or will it have been wiped clean off my record after the 5 years?

our neighbors are refugees from africa, a church sponsored them and now they live in the US. the problem is ever since they've moved here the police are constantly over! their 15 year old murdered someone, and his uncle is on house arrest and is mentally unstable. one of the woman that lives there apparently beats her children. i have no idea how many people live there, and not ALL of them are criminals. but my family is afraid that property values are going to go down if the police are constantly over. what can we do about this problem?

My car didn't run so I gave it to this guy for free. I just wanted it out of my driveway. I gave him the title, but he has never legally taken ownership of it. It turns out he got the car to run and driving around uninsured and getting parking tickets. The registration is suspended because there is no insurance. I receieved several notice from the DMV that the vehicle needs to be insured and now I received a parking ticket that is under my name. I told the guy before but he won't listen. What can I legally do to him?

I got a speeding ticket. However where i was driving was not anysign of speed that gives clue what is the speedlimit, cop told me that speedlimt is 55 and i was going 70 which i dont deny, cause i was late to work, however i was following the traffic, cause everyone was going over 65 for sure and i know that, but cop pulled me over, (only me not others). I think he thought i was a gang member because of my red hat and red shirt...and he did not know what to do and gave me a ticket (thats my opinion). He didnt pull over the car in front of me or behind me...and me got pulled over, he wrote the ticket for 76 and climed that i was driving 79.. but i am 100000% sure i was going 70....... and one more thing i told him 10 times that i was going 70 and he admited that i was going 70 but the ticket was for 76...what should i do ? do i have any chances of winning my case???
Thanks alot.....

...tie him up or whatever. Can you torture (exact the same amount of inflict bodily harm) towards that criminal that he used on you and your family? Once you have an offender under control, can you by law still kill that person and still call it self defense? Or are there laws that prevent you from doing this... like a small scale version of the Geneva Convention?

I was arrested in 2004 for possession of stolen property, I was released later that day. I served 45 days community service. I completed probation and paid all fees. I later had my case and plea dismissed(expunged). Just wondering if this will stop me from becoming a correctional officer?

I sit here night after night reading some of these stupid questions about Law Enforcement and how we are violating all of your rights and privileges.

Why can’t some people understand that the police are well trained and not a one of us is out to beat you up or kill you unless you force us too? You sell drugs, beat your wives, drive with bad licenses, steal, cheat and lie and sell drugs and it is our fault when you get caught?

Do you not understand that when we tell you to do something or tell you to stop resisting that if you do not comply you are going to go to the hospital instead of jail?

Why can’t some people in society get this?

While on patrol, if a vehicle is run through the secretary of state (or DMV), and the registered owner comes back with a suspended license, or even a warrant, and the description matches that of the current driver, is this not probable cause to initiate a traffic stop? (With no other traffic violations) I could have sworn that this was legal from my academy days, but all of the old dogs are telling me that it is not a legal stop in Michigan. Either way, does anyone have any case law saying one way or the other?
