Sounds like you are not a smooth talker. There is almost 1% chance you can win your case. Because the court will believe the officer before they believe you. Good luck

If he had pulled over the guy behind you, should he have gotten off because the cop didn't pull you over? They can't stop everyone.
Go ahead, go to court. Sometimes the cops won't show up and the case is dismissed. If he does show up, you can question him. But don't expect him to admit to what he told you.
One way people beat speeding tickets in California is that the cops are required to survey each area to determine the average speed of traffic and to post a limit that is reasonably close to that. There are lots of areas they haven't gotten around to, and yours might be one, in which case the judge may dismiss your ticket.
But your speed works against you. There is nowhere in California where it's legal to drive 70. You'll probably have to eat this one. Sorry, dude.

Just go to traffic school and get it over with. You don't want that on your insurance.
If you plead NOT GUILTY, TRUST ME, the Officer WILL show up, they are mandated to, and they will schedule your day to make sure the officer shows. CA does not want to lose your valuable dollars towards the roads, and more officers on the road.
Just own up to it, it doesn't matter if it's 70, 72, whatever! 55 MEANS 55, whether you saw limits or not, you admitted you did it since you were late for work. There is a greater chance your speedometer was off then his radar gun. I would casually call the police Dept and ask when was the last time they calibrated that specific gun... but that's your last option.
Sorry but you gotta own up to your actions big boy!

The controlling test here will be whether there are any other moving violations on your record. If you've got a record, you're toast. But if you are clean, the story about going with the flow may get you a reduced fine and even NO points (but you will have to pay court costs). Quite often, the officer does not even show up in court for tickets. If that's the case, and your record is clean, you are home free -just tell your story.
But, if you HAVE other tickets for speeding and related, just pay that puppy and whistle a merry tune.

When you ADMITTED going 70 mph you just lost your case. There are 3 rules to remember with encounters with police officers....1. Shut up. 2. Be Quiet. 3. Don't say a thing! In traffic stops all you are required to do is produce your drivers license, proof of insurance and registration. Everything you say to the officer can and will be used against you. In your case you tried to make excuses AND you admitted going 70mpg. Live and learn. Pay the fine, lesson learned. Pass this info on to others.

you have a 50-50 case. don't hold me to it. Everyone did it but you're the one that got caught. thats what sucks. go to court and plead not guilty. The officer has to be present at the second hearing. if not, you could have it thrown out. If present, argue your case but don't be mean. If it was 55, and you're going 70, you can still get a ticket. If the officer said 77, and you were going 70, you might get the fine reduced. Like I said, a 50-50 but don't hold me to anything. Good luck.

Oh, come on. You were speeding, you got caught - man-up and pay the ticket. Just because "everybody else" does it doesn't mean you have to.. That is a 10 year-olds response.
The rest of your B.S. about the gang thingie and how he wrote 76 mph because he wanted to is not to be believed.
Did you know that Cali is a drug cartel in Columbia? Did you know that the abbreviation for your state is CA? Acceptable would be Calif. (don't forget the period).

Well, if everyone broke the law, and they only caught you, thats your own fault. And maybe your speedometer was a little off? Who knows... But either way, you admit to breaking the law even after his mistake. So it seems you will lose your case no matter what. Sorry to say that. Just pay the money and move on.=)

The fact that other drivers were speeding is completely irrelevant here. You broke the law and got caught, and now you're trying to justify it with excuses and innuendos. Slow down, obey the speed limit, and guess what? You'll never have to ask this question again, I guarantee it.
