Yes, even if the object you steal is illegal itself, a theft is a theft and you can be criminally charged for it. The general definition of theft is when you take or obtain possession of the property of someone else without their knowledge or permission, and with the intent of never returning it and thereby depriving them of it's benefit, value or usefulness. So, if you take another persons cocaine without their knowledge and permission, and with the intent of never returning it, then you have committed a theft.

Identity theft is a crime in which an imposter obtains key pieces of personal information, such as Social Security or driver's license numbers, in order to impersonate someone else. The information can be used to obtain credit, merchandise, and services in the name of the victim, or to provide the thief with false credentials. In addition to running up debt, an imposter might provide false identification to police, creating a criminal record or leaving outstanding arrest warrants for the person whose identity has been stolen. Just stealing and using a credit card is not identity theft.

Earlier this year in Gainesville, Florida someone stole pot from a dealer. The dealer reported it and was arrested along with the thief.
You could be arrested and charged if the dealer reported it. Usually the dealers takes care of this without the authorities since they don't want to be arrested. They just pop a cap is the@ss of people who steal from them. Of course, they hurt them severely first in order to send a message to other idiots not to mess with them.

Honestly, I do not recemend it. And yah, you can be charged with theft, but he'll get charged to, so he most likely won't call anyone but his street buddies on you, but still, it is funny to talk about, and funny to laugh about after.... but not until you get out of the city, and not when your running. The only reason he didn't catch me is 'cuz he was drunk. And the only reason he didn't follow me is 'cuz I was already out of the city, and he knew I would do something like that to him sooner or later. And if your gonna be in the city where he is, don't let him see who you are! And wait 'till they're stoned! lol

If you steal drugs from a dealer you'd be in big trouble. But not from law inforcement. I doubt the dealer would go to the cops, but that would be the least of your problems!

Yes you can be charged, but chances are the dealer you stole from will seek out his own style of street justice. He won't be calling the Police.
Watch your back.

If you take a drug dealer drugs, you might not have the chance to do/use the drugs, because he probably have a gun, and one might not make it.

If the dealer just leaves his drugs just lying around, sure, go ahead. I'm sure you're a trusting person, and he wouldn't turn you in.
