I lost my mobile phone but need a crime referance number to claim on insurance. I went to my nearest Police station 1 mile away, but becasue of where I live i'm in a different county and have to go to my apparantly local Police station which is 25 mile away and for someone who doesn't drive its quite a hassel.

Could I give a statement over the phone to get the number?

Recently, my husband received a speeding ticket. When I looked over the ticket it had the wrong vehicle year, make, and color. The police officer didn't write anything correct about my husband's vehicle. Will this cause the charges to be dropped? We live in Florida and haven't lived here for long, so we're not sure if the rules are differen't here. Thanks!

My husband got a speeding ticket last night (50 in a 35). What he came home steaming about was the way the police officers approached him. He said he saw in the rear view mirror that they both got out of the car and unsnapped their guns, they shouted at him to "keep your hands on the wheel". Then when they came up on both sides of the car one shouted at him "do you have any warrants or are you on parole?" After he told them no, they asked him "do you have any objections to us searching your vehicle" He again said no, he had no objections but they decided not to search the car after all.

Since this is the first ticket he's gotten in eight years, he is trying to figure out why they were so agressive towards him. Is this the way officers approach people now? Or was it possibly something about my husband that caused them to suspect him as more than a traffic violator? He does drive a red sports car so maybe that has something to do with it?

With millions in jail and prison will people in the future be shocked at the fact that so many people get locked up.

When I was in jail I met loads of people in there for stuff liek drugs, not paying fines and just simple theft. I ws there for robbery and then for DUI but even think that stuff liek that could be dealt with in other ways.

When they look back at pictures of people in chains for simple stuff as I have been will they think that that is shocking just like people think slavery and cutting people's arms off for stealing is today.

Why do cops take the risk of getting hit by a car when clocking for speeding, they hide behind trees and other objects, they zoom from the interstates just to catch a speeder, or they tag team clock people where one stands in the street and the other say which car and then run in the street to pull them over. Would it not be more sufficient and safe for all if the cops would just let themselves be seen? Who speeds when they see a cop, no one that I know. so if you cops are out there to make the highways safer why not just be seen? i am sure there will be less speeding!!!!!!!!!!

I have a question preferably for someone from the State of Florida. I have been sworn police officer for 5 years, some of that experience I was a Detective and handled a variety of cases including homicides. I recently got into some serious trouble when my own police department showed up for a welfare check of my girlfriend. Can't go into details, but i ended up getting charged with two felonies and two misdemeanors, domestic violence. All charges are false and even my girlfriend is on my side. Have a good lawyer and will get everything dropped but could take a year or so. Basically the cops railroaded me becuz they wanted me gone from the PD. Ive never been in trouble before, never even been written up for anything. And I was a supervisor for the PD. I have no convictions and dont plan on getting one from this either. I know they do a background check with FDLE and FBI. Is it even worth my time to try and apply? Or will i get denied just because of the pending charges? help!

i live in a commercial apartment somewhere in the philippines, and I lived ther for a year and a half without a contract. one day unexpected thing happened..the meralco or electricity officer came to my apartment and replace the old electricity meter by a new one.after a month .. the meralco officer came back with a demand letter stating that the old meter of the apartment was tampered and they demanding to pay the amount of 300,000 pesos as a penalty.I was shocked and becoz of that i decided to live the apartment worrying to be blaimed by the owner of the apartment for that tampered meter . After a week the owner of the apartment called me in my cellphone and said that we have a hearing in our local government office.
my question is,,..what if i change my cellfone number and dont attend the hearing in that local goverment office?and just forget everything... what will happen? are they going to issue a warrant of arrest for me?

would start a 'grass' roots movement of everyone playing johnny potseed. Would weed be seen growing in ditches on the sides of highways, along the farmer fields, edges of housing developements, even in the flower beds of city municiple buildings? Would it work, would the law be to busy eradicating stray weed, to look for hidden patches?

I got pulled over a couple months ago for going 38 in a 25 I still don't believe I was going that fast.. anyways my dash lights were all burnt out when I went to the dealership they told me it was some switch and it would cost about 300 to fix I couldn't afford it so i put it off. well the night I was pulled over I was on a very very dark road no other cars were on that road at the time I could not see any of the dash. .Since then I have gotten the lights fixed and I have a receipt it was actually my bulbs and I got it done for way less than what the dealership quoted. I can't get this ticket I have a pretty bad driving record and if I get another moving violation dmv will suspend me for 45 days and I'm a single mom who works fulltime and I take my daughter to school everyday..
please tell me what you think I should do I'm so nervous about court and I really believe I'm not guilty help!!!

Because any criminal or shooter would immediatly face return-fire from everybody around him.

Therefore school shootings would never go very far, armed robbery would end up with the criminal being shot.

In most cases the criminal would be long dead before the police arrive.

But now, thanks to the libs, they would want only the criminals to be armed.

If guns are outlaws, therefore outlaws will own them but not the rest of us and therefore outlaws will be free to do any crimes they want without fearing to be stoped.

By the time the police arrive, the damage will have been done.

What do you think ?

i was in a parking lot driving in front of the store leaving this car was in front of me she stops puts it in reverse i start yelling and waving and honking she doesnt stop she hits me. i knew there was no damage we were going slow she pulls into a parking spot (the whole reason she hit me) and i waited and she never got out so i though i will be nice and just let it go. and hr later i get a call from the police telling me she charged me with leaving the scene of an accident i am thinking this is a joke til i get there and its not only real but leaving the scene is a felony.. so now i am freaking out and the cop is like i dont know what is up with her it was her fault but she insist on charging you for this.. she even had 2 wittness make up false statements that didnt even match. for 3 days i was freaking out over this til it went before the d/a and they droped it. now i want to make her pay for making me so upset for 4 days any ideas?

I'm l iving in USA, Oklahoma city. Last week, when I were buying gas, a man jumped on me, hit me continously with his fist, he didn't say anything, I can't fight back because he was too tough, (nobody was there to stop him, it was in middle night) so I pull the gun out, and said "Stop, or I shoot!", but he's move on, I have no choice... I shot in his chest.
Later, it was confirmed that he's dead in hospital. I don't know who he is and never meet him before in my life. Up until now, I don't even know the reason why he jumped on me, (maybe because of money or maybe because he is psycho).
My dad bailed me out.
What will happen to me, is it legal self-defense? If I will have to be convicted, what is the maximum sentence for me?

Thanks all

I just sold my used car which I owned for 5 years for $2,700 cash. I went to the bank and deposited the money(27 one hundred dollar bills). As soon as I got out of the bank, I noticed that the deposit slip said $2,500. I also kind of rememberd that I might have said $2,500 to the teller by accident.

I got scared that I might have lost $200 and ran back into the bank and confronted the teller who helped me. I asked her if she could count the money again. After she counted for the 2nd time, we both realized that she had $200 extra in her drawer.

Did she make a mistake as well or did she tried to rip me off? I just politely thanked her and left. She did look nervous when I confronted her. Also when I made the deposit on prior occasions, teller always put the cash in the drawer before I left. But this time, she seemed reluctant to put the cash in the drawer and I left seeing the cash still laying on the counter. I feel like I should do something but I don't know what.

there are some people out there that think that when a officer is in danger they should aim for the leg or the arm. why do people think cops shouldnt shoot to kill? say a person is high on cocaine and just stabbed his sister for stealing a french fry off of his dinner plate runs into his bedroom and says if you come in ill kill you too? you have your weapon drawn you open the door and he charges at you. would you shoot for the leg on someone who is so out of it he would keep running and end up stabbing and possibly killing you?
