would start a 'grass' roots movement of everyone playing johnny potseed. Would weed be seen growing in ditches on the sides of highways, along the farmer fields, edges of housing developements, even in the flower beds of city municiple buildings? Would it work, would the law be to busy eradicating stray weed, to look for hidden patches?
HHHmmmmm

What a great idea. I think I will start in my town first thing in the morning. Maybe they will ignore the stash in my closet under grow lights. Hmmmm?

It's already been said, but Stoners are often too busy living up to their name to actually start a movement that size. We'd probably have to experience another counter cultural revolution(one could only wish) for something so [great] to happen. Marijuana is the only non-addicting, psychoactive drug -- that includes nicotine and alcohol. I, as a Libertarian, see little reason to legislate its use. But it's difficult to tax, even though the government has a lot ton of it growing. A lot of users would enjoy being able to go down to the smoke shop and pick up a "dime," as they say; even if it was taxed. It is interesting to note that tobacco can be grown at home, but many don't bother. Home grown tobacco would give a mean nicotine buzz.

Actually Marijuana used to grow wild all over the United States and that was an issue that was originally brought up when they outlawed it on the federal level.

In some parts of Pensylvania marijuana is starting to grow naturally by itself again.

All those public spaces are regularly mowed. Besides, stoners are too busy getting stoned and talking about what they should do to actually get together and take active part in a grassroots movement.

When I lived in southern Indiana there was "ditchweed" all over the place. I don't know how it got there or why, but believe me it was there. Actually it was kind of funny to see potheads out there looking for it.
