The person's family doesn't have the bond money at this moment, so the person goes to jail. If the family comes up with the money, but he's in jail already, can he be bailed out still?

I hear it all the time, that the police do nothing or carter to the criminal and not the victim. In all honesty taking the bad guy to jail and helping the public is why we do the job. We do not do it for the pay, we don't do it for all the smart comments we are forced to hear, and we sure don't do it beacuse we can get shot at.

It is not the police that need to be blamed for "doing nothing" or "catering to the criminal." Police have to obey the law. The criminals do too, but they don't care. If a Police Officer is doing nothing, it is because the Law prevents us from doing it. If a Police Officer appears to be catering to the criminal, it's because the Deffense Lawyers and Law Makers have put in place Laws that tie the Officers hands.

There are some lazy Officers who just want a paycheck, but don't profile us and toss us all into one group.

If you don't like the way Officers do their job, go vote. Get the Laws changed. Place the blame where it belongs.

Does anyone know about the requirements for SWAT? I have 9 years military experience, and I heard some departments require you to be a normal patrol cop for at least 2 years before trying out for SWAT.I was wondering if I could go straight to the try-outs I want to get some personal advice from someone that has actually done it before looking at the police department websites.

i was seeing this guy who's on parole. he has more than a criminal record that started when he was only 15. He is now 33. I thought he had changed his life around for the better. I was wrong! In october of 2006 he stole my car, my money, got physical by spitting in my face while choking me, banging my head up against the wall and so on...I was left out in the middle of the boonies, at night, as he drove off in my 2005 Chevy COBALT I received from my parents only 16 months prior. He then drove to my house, kicked the door down, took two gallons of paint I had stored and emptied them in my bedroom ruining EVERYTHING...curtains, bedspread, VCR, sleigh bed, carpet, dressers, clothes, t.v.,computer, printer, & 100 cd's. I called the the sheriff's station where this guys brother-in-law is a sheriff (he's been a cop for around 25 years) and coincidentally the deputy who answered my call. NO ONE ever showed up to make a report! The following day this same sheriff came to my house off dutt

Do any personnel from these organisations routinely carry firearms (pistols)? If so, who in particular?

I am aware that MI5 frequently employ a police presence in the field, and that it is quite possible these police officers would be armed- but what about the MI5 personnel? Do they ever carry arms themselves?

Thanks for any serious answers.

I hate to admit that I have used an illegal substance in my past, past as in high school and 1st year college. I will be graduating this year and wanted to know exactly how the background check works? I've heard that local PD'S do polygraph test with a background check of 3 yrs. I've also heard that certain agencies don't polygraph you but just give you a reg. drug test.

I no longer use or have used an illegal substance since 2005, and even then it was not habitual. It was more like "experimenting" or once here & there. Since then, I have volunteered & done community service for the city, the hospital, & church.

Is it better in telling the truth during the test and if so will it completely jeprodize my career in the CJ system? Does community service help & show that I have matured? What can I do?
