With little exception, virtually everyone I arrest accuses me of this. Or that I am only picking on them because of their race, religion, sexual preference, etc. You just let it roll off of you after a while. This bothered me for the first week or so after becoming a police officer because I knew it wasn't true, but then I became so used to it that it come to be expected.

I believe that anyone who gets stopped in any fashion by an officer that wants to cry "harrassment" must have something to hide. On the norm, officers do not tend to harrass. They have better things to do with their time. Most people who cry harrassment are a members of the society who just do not respect authority for one reason or another.

I was once a cop. I didn't live in the same city I was working for. Sometimes I got pull over for no apparently reason in the town where I was living. I didn't drive recklessly. I didn't drive over the speed limit. I maintained my car in top condition at all time. My driving record was clean and still is clean. My criminal record was clean and still clean. Obviously they were harrassing me. What else can it be ? I don't think they pulled me over to wish me a safe night on duty while I was on my way to work. I admit that I never got cited. They were quite friendly after they found out what I did for living. However, it still pissed me off.

As a former police officer, I can attest to this. It's usually the same ones over and over. They commit crimes, you arrest them. They never take responsibility for their actions, they can only blame things on others. It's easier to blame the officers for "harassing" them, than it is to admit they were commiting crimes.

I want to know why Women and teenagers are "Investigated" for suspicion of crime more than men. I am sure it goes for Blacks Vs. White also...

Even if statistically they ARE more involved in crime isn't that profiling and harassment?
(In the case of women it is for companionship, another type of harassment).
