I hear it all the time, that the police do nothing or carter to the criminal and not the victim. In all honesty taking the bad guy to jail and helping the public is why we do the job. We do not do it for the pay, we don't do it for all the smart comments we are forced to hear, and we sure don't do it beacuse we can get shot at.

It is not the police that need to be blamed for "doing nothing" or "catering to the criminal." Police have to obey the law. The criminals do too, but they don't care. If a Police Officer is doing nothing, it is because the Law prevents us from doing it. If a Police Officer appears to be catering to the criminal, it's because the Deffense Lawyers and Law Makers have put in place Laws that tie the Officers hands.

There are some lazy Officers who just want a paycheck, but don't profile us and toss us all into one group.

If you don't like the way Officers do their job, go vote. Get the Laws changed. Place the blame where it belongs.

These people who rail on about cops with dark tinted windows, and short cops and tackling kids at schools who are only trying to go to school, where is that coming from.
Let's go off about all the supposed ills that cops do. Let's pretend that none of them are nice, let's do the same "profiling" and anti-police stuff that we always do. Business as usual.
Oh yes, and my all time favorite, "you just became a cop because you got bullied, now you're a bully."
You know what, you people that hate the police are all deputized, now go out there and do the job and see how well it goes for you. Find out that all your former buddies don't like you now...
Giving a pass to underage drinkers, etc. Whatever!
You don't know me, you are as prejudiced as anybody at a Klan meeting, just against the police. Get a life, then criticize somebody trying to save yours.
Like the guy who posted this said, if you dont like the laws, change them.

I find the ones who blame the police the most are the ones breaking the law - they are upset because they got caught!
For some reason the criminals feel they have the right to do what ever they want and no one has the right to tell them NO or get arrested for it. Don't know when they got their wires crossed but they need to wake up and get a clue.
My son is in corrections and all he hears, from the prisoners, is they are upset they got arrested, it was the police officers fault and they ended up in prison.
I just don't understand why people refuse to take responsibility for their own actions and accept the consequences.
I think police officers do a great job!

There are many levels in everything. A ploice offcier catches a bad guy (for whatever reason) and places the guy in jail. The cop have fufulled his duty, to respond to the call, control the scene, arrest the criminals and help the victims, Now the judge sets bond, then the criminal goes to jial and maybe bonds out, and gets a good attorney and is either found guilty or not and if not, the criminal is back out in the street and many times the cop happens to run into this punk again, and where is the justice in that. Not saying its happens often or every at all, but many cops do play, judge , jury and executioner, and its all because of the system. The criminals have so many loopholes to get out of a charge and the poor victims have almost none. I wil continue to do my job, and I will do it with pride and to serve my public, and my K-9 will do the same. Yea, at times (if not all the time) its a thankless job, but all I can say is the I will use anything at my disposal and do anything to ensure I come home after my shift. Yea, many cops just do the minimal required , and many bust their @ss, to each their own. But the justice system is the one that needs to be re-vamped, for the victims.

Hostage incidents, from a police attitude, are continually rather perplexing. seem at Germany in 1972- Munich- they lost each and each hostage. the U. S. has lost its share of hostages additionally in comparable circumstances. you could flow to any u . s . a . and discover comparable circumstances and absence of harmless existence. The police on the scene had to improvise and regulate approaches consistently throughout this difficulty. The incident ended badly in a messy shootout, yet then returned maximum human beings of the hostages got here out alive. The police rather could be reported. They definitely achieved one among their own, a guy lots of the police on accountability probable knew for my area, and saved a impressive style of visitors interior the approach. i do no longer care how properly experienced the SWAT or the place the incident occurs, yet hostage circumstances like this are continually a roll of the cube. there is only no ordinary thank you to make certain a difficulty like this, no ordinary answer the police forgot or did no longer understand approximately. you're able to provide the police there a wreck. they actually did an spectacular job, thinking the demanding circumstances of the situation. I promise in case you ask a SWAT commander in China, Russia or the U. S. he will additionally agree that if a similar subject happened in his community, he ought to no longer assure that each and each hostage might make it out alive each and every time.

Because the blame is always placed somewhere. It amuses me to hear people complain about the police not doing enough.

Crime is a social problem. The police can not prevent anything from happening, usually. They respond to calls for help after something has already happened.

It is always funny to me when a murder happens, how police chiefs get on the TV and say that they want to do something about it. They can't, usually.

The same reason many ignorant people blame guns, as if a gun would cause something to happen by itself. If a person is determined to kill someone, it is not easy to stop that from happening unless someone knows in advance, which it not likely.
The police are not given any mind-control powers that I know of that would tell them ahead of time who is going to do what. And most murders are committed by people killing for the first time, anyway, so how could anyone know?

The break down of our family system and therefore our values along with it are the leading causes of crime. As I said, a social problem. Also the drug user is given a pass, while the police go after drug dealers which is totally unreal to me. No drug user, no drug dealer. Drug dealers are only in business because of the demand of the users. Common sense. But people want to blame someone besides their son or daughter for their drug use. We live in a blameless country where everything that people do is someones else's fault.

Hear, hear. Officers who break the law or overstep their bounds by using their badges as an excuse to bully people bring shame upon their departments, but I think most people understand that the majority of police aren't like that. They are law enforcers, not law makers. If we have a problem with the law, we should complain to our law-makers. If we have a problem with the way the laws are being enforced (or not being enforced), that's another matter.

I have an immense respect for the good ones, those who do their jobs because society counts on them to do so. You put your lives on the line for me and mine every day and maintain order, which makes a civilized society possible. I salute you.

Humanists support law enforcement, since we believe that human justice is the only kind of justice there is.

This of course being from a cops side of view, not from the publics side.

We see cops who may not be there for the paycheck, but you got to admit there are cops out there who have a self esteem problem and do like pushing people around.
When you got cops tackling a young 13 year old kid, cuffing him for doing nothing more then being on the school grounds where kids are supposed to be during school hours, you get a dirty taste in your mouth for piece officers, this is in no way a piece officer...

We have a saying around our parts, stay clear of short cops. These cops have something to pruf to the world and are very difficult to even talk too.

Our area is a area where if a cop can not get a job, come to our county! These cops other places will not hire. So of course we have a warped sense of what a real cop is.....or is there such a thing as a real cop.

Everyone knows a career cop is one step away from being a criminal.
Oh then the lack of training with the handicapped and disabled, this is purely pathetic! Then we put guns in the hands of these cops, scary!

So yes lets make the cops out there accountable for there actions! Know one is above the law......

Because the Police Officer is usually the point at which a citizen interfaces the accountability of the law. It is when the law, government and politics go from the abstract to reality for the individual.

I am a truck driver and there is not a ticket that I got that I didn't deserve.I speed,I broke the law I get a ticket.Real simple, too bad others dont see it that way.I thank all of you Officers for the job that you do and the idiots you have to endure day in and day out.God Bless you all.

I totally agree with you!!!!

Cops DON'T make enough for the bullshit they put up with. A rookie in the state of Mississippi pulls in $24K a year, to get shot at, stabbed, threatened, and cussed. Is it really for the money? I don't think so.

There are cops who use that badge they wear to do right by the community or county they serve, but there are cops who use that badge for picking up girls and getting what they want. ALL cops are not bad. I say, weed out the good ones, fire the rest, and re-hire (and raise the pay) of some good cops.
