I was on my way to work and I made a left turn hitting a parked car. The car was black and it was dark out and I didn't see it when I turned. I wasn't able to see any damage due to the poor lighting. I did not have a pen or paper to write my info and i had to be at work asap. I work in an emergency room. When I got to work i called the local police department and informed them I was unable to leave a note and that I would do it as soon as i left work in the morning. They said they would go check out the car and took my information. Would this still be considered a hit and run even though I contacted the police?

Let's say you're at a friends condo and you're in the parking garage about to leave and a cop drives by and you all look at him suspiciously but continue with the leaving. And then on the bottom floor he pulls you over and searches the car with consent and finds illegal substances. In the addendum for probable cause he states the reason for pulling the vehicle over as he observed many movements from inside when he was behind the vehicle. question is this: Is it legal to pull someone over for that, if not can the marijuana charge be upheld, and can all 4 individuals be charged? Also, if the individuals know they were not moving around inside the vehicle, can the video from the camera in the cop car be brought in and if it is found they were not mvoing can the charges be dropped?

THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING. i recently was driving by and i heard a lady scream out someone stole her purse and the FAT cop saw it and dropped his muffin or something and ran after him for like a block and stopped because he was tired. the thief got away. so why are FAT cops being hired if they can't run after suspects? shouldn't officers have fitness center's to go to?

It's been 12 and a half years since this double homicide happened,and,11 years that Mr. Simpson was acquitted of the double homicide charges against him, and, latest controversy or not regarding this matter,is the case still open & under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Dept.?If not, then why not?
If possible,I prefer answers from Los Angeles residents, even someone presently or formerly involved with the Los Angeles Police Dept. Thanks!

I'm reading online about the hiring process and after all the background checks and physical and mental exams, you have to complete the Job Standard Test which consists of running and jumping over a 6 foot wall, dragging a victim, firing an inoperative firearm and some other running around tasks. Does this part happen before you get taken into the Academy? I don't even know how to go about training for something like this on my own...such as getting good at surmounting a 6 foot barrier. Any info or tips would be greatly appreciated! I'll be applying for the NYPD.

Was thinking if drug addicts regestered with a clinic and were given government controlled drugs that were clean and not cut. Wouldnt that cut out most of drug related crime let alone destroy the drug trade.

I'm asking this same question again just to be alittle more specific.

he's not a dealer. It is his first offension. And he wasn't under the influence. I'm not sure of the amount he had on him, but I doubt it was a large amount because he didn't have money that day, so it was probably a friend of his who gave him whatever amount of meth he had. No criminal record. And in the state of California.

How much time will he be getting in jail? His bail amount is 10,000 which I don't think is much compared to the other cases that were presented in court that day who's bail was 100,000 to 1 million

hi a friend of mine was recently arrested for 'common assault' on a train ticket inspector. But he didnt beat him up or anything, it was a 50/50 nudge. anyways he was arrested but wasn't charged so released on bail. hes gotta go back next month. He's scared he might go to prison for it as he has a previous for affray 5 years ago and he did some community service. I told him he wont have to go to prison but what likely is he going to get for it?

Long story made short.
I am 24. When I was 22 I was charged with a 4th degree felony theft charge. I stole a ring that was worth $13,000, and pawned it.
I have made all restitution, complied with all set forth guidelines, and I have been in no other trouble. I am currently on 2nd year of non reporting supervision. I will be on probation until 3/2008.
My probation officer has been a great friend to me, and he has above and beyond the call of duty for me.
I was a high school drop out when the theft occured and have since completed an on line course to obtain my high school diploma. I am a mother to a little girl and will always teach her right for wrong from now on, and be there for her. I had no one from childhood to adult hood. I want a career in criminal justice so I may guide one to a better life, and from the streets such as my PO did.
I am limited on what positions I could actually hold.
Does anyone out there have any idea of what degrees I could obtain in the CJ feild?

Nov 14th, 2006, around 11:30 pm, Powell Library CLICC computer lab, UCLA: student shot with a Taser multiple times by UCPD officers, even after he was cuffed and motionless.

According to eye witnesses, it started when student Mostafa Tabatabainejad did not show a Community Service Officer his student ID. Eye witnesses said the student was on his way leaving the lab when a UCPD officer approached and grabbed him by the exit of the lab. He objected to the physical contact by loudly repeating "don't touch me", and this is the point where the video starts.See it for yourselves:

I called the Police, to check wether they are mistreating the 2 years old child. Didn't work and the police said nothing they can do? Who actually could pay a visit to those parents and check on the child, that, as far for my concern, cry out of neglet, dispair and tiredness. Please, give me a phone or website.
