Not only can he stop him but he can issue him a ticket. My son is a police officer and he was stopped and given a ticket by a state trooper in Florida. He was in his police car and he thought that the trooper was kidding, but he was not. My son went to his supervisor and got the ticked voided, but it was not easy.....KECK

Of course he can. As long as the officer does not have his lights and siren on and is not acting in an official capacity. This goes along with the officer's duty to protect the public, even from other police officers and their poor driving habits.

The bigger question is WILL the other officer do it. It's very rare for this to happen. Generally if a cop sees another cop driving dangersously for no reason, he try to talk to that individual and then if that doesn't work...he MIGHT go to a supervisor.

typically, it would be dealt with administratively. the speeding woudl be reported to a supervisor, and he would be reprimanded. If the officer were off-duty and in a personal vehicle, then yes. But a cop will not pull another police cruiser over. He could just radio to him and tell him to slow his *** down.

Yes. It has happened many times, and the speeding officer was issued a citation. Some of the southern states are expecially hard on police officers, as they think that they are the ones who should ovey the law, above all others.

A cop can validly arrest another cop if the latter has violated speeding rules.

Of course they can. Charging them is usually not done though, it's called professional courtesy. And no I don't agree with it either. To me, Officers should lead by example. Speeding and then not being charged by another Officer who is lawfully performing his duty by stopping him is just wrong, but it happens every day.

yes, they can.

Off duty, some departments don't get along, like county sheriff office don't like city police, and may ticket them if they catch them.

But normally they won't, that is why most police officers have the plate or sticker on thier cars that ID them as belonging to a police officer. ( I got mine)
