Every single state has their own revised codes or laws concerning traffic, etc. Most states have a set fine for traffic tickets. Sherriff & local police should be the same. Check with a local attorney in that area

in our county, the clerk of the court sets the guidelines for traffic fines

all municipalities, the sheriff, and state troopers cite the individual, the clerk assesses the fines.

if you don't pay , you go to jail.

What chages is the court where it is heard in.

Most city police have thier tickets heard in a city court.

sheriff and state police, have thier tried in state court.
