I opened up a child support case. The person working with me said that, if he doesn't pay, they really can't do anything about it. They can take him to court, tell him to get a job, and take his license away, but that's all. Not that having your license taken away is not a major thing. This woman said that this is really all that is done in Califorinia and that it is seldom that deadbeat parents are arrested (even though jail time is threatened). i don't understand. how can they get away with this?

insist ex-convict must get job and support their families and at the same time there is no prorgramme which help to them to change thier life and get them job and on cotrary all govt. agencies ban jobs for ex convict even after they are rehaitate. They are placed in no win situation.Only chance they are given them is to support themself and thier families by illigle means and then system put them to jail which are already overcrowded and we all pay them.Is not better to spend this money to changethes people and help them to change themself and improve thier life. Do you know US jails are most crowded jails amonge all western countaries?

I currently have a family law lawyer. I opened a child support case and my lawyer said that he will now only be able to handle visitation, not child support. is this true?

...because here you can drive downtown by the police station and see prostitutes walking around...and the police station is located in the heart of downtown where all the crimes happen and murders take place. ......yet, the cops don't patrol around there. They'd rather pull people over for stupid reasons on the other side of town and loiter in the 711 and tim hortons.
So, why become a Cop if you're scared to Protect and Serve?

A street cleaner reversed into my car and then got out and tried to say I hit them!! How can I win this? I have contacted insurance companies, home owners associations (it was right in front of my house), the street cleaners employer...everyone says since the stories are different and there is no witness or police report they can't do anything. The police came but there isn't a report.. HELP PLEASE!!

Every day I find a new question about how to find out if someone has a warrant out for them. Wouldn't it seem logical to simply call the police or sheriff department, and faster too?

I just graduated from high school. I'm in the Detroit area and I want to become a cop. To be a cop in Detroit you don't even need college training, only a high school diploma or G.E.D. and must be at least 18 years of age. I have both so I do qualify. Should I just apply to be a police officer or what can I do to find some type of work in a police environment while I go to college for criminal jusice??? Thanks!

I believe that ANY individual over the age of 18 who commits a violent crime and is convicted AND if there is DNA evidence as confirmation of their guilt, said offender should be locked up for a MINIMUM of 25 years with NO PAROLE... end of story... 1 rape, 1 assault, one murder... and MANDATORY JAIL TIME for any human who attempts to evade the police for ANY reason... even if the person goes thru a stop sign and they lead the police on a chase that would be a mandatory 5 years without exception. What better predictor of criminal behavior than not obeying the police?

Yesterday my friend told me that he was asked to put his hands up , get out of his car and kneel down before the police on the ground. After searching the car and its documents, he was let free and was apologized to by the police.
But who will pay for his pain for he was like that for about 10 to 15 minutes and who will pay for the humiliation caused during that time as to many others saw him in that humiliating position.
The police dont have any right to humiliate people in this way. Dont you think so?
