Every day I find a new question about how to find out if someone has a warrant out for them. Wouldn't it seem logical to simply call the police or sheriff department, and faster too?

It's not for myself. It's about the many questions posted here that people ask about their warrants or somebody they know. Oh well, whatever...its too hot where I'm at to get too picky.

Police and sheriff's departments are hesitant about telling these people if they have a warrant or not. All of these people will go hide if they knew.
If they think they have a warrant they should be turning themselves in, but they would rather hide a little while before they caught.

If you want to find out if someone has an warrant out for their arrest call the police. It's called "publc record" and anything that is public, the public has access to.

Actually, they will tell you and then if it's you they'll ask you where you are. You have the option of turning yourself in, or trying to run. Warrants are public records and therefore should be given freely when asked for.

you could pretend to be that person, but you would need the ss#. I wouldnt recomend this because it is illeagal. If it IS you you can call and give your ss# and they will tell you without you having to worry about them coming to get you. they dont work like that. There are also alot of sites on the net that people use before they hire someone and they are only about 20 bucks to use and they give a comlete background check, however you still have to have the information like ss#.

yes but people who think they have warrants also have paranoia. somehow i think you have more relation to this question than simply seeing questions about warrants. which would support the theory in my answer. this is the first question i have noticed about warrants thats not to say it is the only one but it is the first i noticed

actually they won't tell you, It is against the law for them to give out NCIC info.

A person can go in and request a criminal history for thierself.
But if there is a warrant, they get arested right there.

Heh. As long as you're calling from a pay phone and you can get away from that location faster than the cops can track your call...
