...because here you can drive downtown by the police station and see prostitutes walking around...and the police station is located in the heart of downtown where all the crimes happen and murders take place. ......yet, the cops don't patrol around there. They'd rather pull people over for stupid reasons on the other side of town and loiter in the 711 and tim hortons.
So, why become a Cop if you're scared to Protect and Serve?

hey "scruffypu$sy"---it's stupid becaus ethere are far more important things going on besides traffic violations. And, no, I'm not "sore" because i've never been pulled over, thank you. and, No, I don't hang out downtown and count all the murders, I read the paper and watch the news everyday, duh. I'm mad becaus eour taxes keep going up just tp pay for more cops who don't do anything to stop what's going on here. And I like how you think it's ok to make assumptions about me---my turn! : you're just bitter because your hubby's a fat cop who cheats on you while he's "on the job". LOL

i'm aware that they are assigned to certain areas. so maybe I should rephrase my question and ask why whoever does the assigning of areas doesn't place them in the ghettos where most of the crime goes down. I can drive through a high crime area at night and see large groups of young males loitering outside of party stores and on the streets and not see one cop on the road there..........and that's my point.

I have to work alone in place where the police won't go without backup. They're sure as heck scared, but they learn to control their fear, or should. But if you aren't scared, you're just plain crazy and should be in that line of work. More people are killed in traffic accidents than are murdered. No wonder why they seem zealous about pulling people over. Where I live, the mayor cut forty police jobs and the remaining staff has to pick up the slack. The police deserve some respect.

cops are assigned to areas. so there will be police in the bad areas, and other cops in the good areas.

What you see is the fact that first hookers are hard to arrest, you can't arrest them for walking down the street, and in a high crime area, a hooker is of little importance over armed robbers and other crimes.

So in general each area has its own officers assigned, some have a harder area to police.

And police are scared in every area depending on the call, but they do thier job anyway. Each one knows that someone can kill them before the day is over, ( alot of officers are killed doing the traffic stop, stoping someone who is wanted for something but the officer does not know it)

What's a stupid reason for being pulled over? Is it stupid because it's YOU that's being pulled over? Obviously, they are protecting us from YOU.

As to the prostitutes and "murderers." So...what do you do....loiter downtown, counting the murders as they happen?

I think you're just sore because you got a speeding ticket.

Why would a cop patrol around a police station?

Because when they shoot you they go to jail.

Because when they put you in jail a judge puts you back on the streets.

Because their uniform makes them a target in many neighborhoods and they have a wife and kids at home.

How about you go up to a cop who has worked that "bad" area for years and is sick to death of seeing what he/she sees and then ask them that question.. I dare you. Or are you scared?
