Do you mean Northern Illinois, land of Chicago and the Party Machine, or do you mean Southern Illinois, land of sensible, law-abiding citizens and sportsmen? Since obviously a police officer can wear a vest, I presume that you are a sportsman who wants it for personal safety in the field. I can't believe that even the liberal party machine would outlaw safety gear, although they're trying to do a job on lawful firearms.

It's legal to wear Kevlar anywhere you want to. However, there are ways to make bullets penetrate Kevlar. If you really want a good vest check out www.galls.com. It's a company that Police, Fire, and EMS from all over the country get their supplies.

LOL, I have a suit that is partially made of kevlar. I would hate to think it was illegal in some places. And no, I doubt that it is bulletproof...

Kevlar is for protection. We all have the right to protect ourselves. You can wear Kevlar!
It is very hot to wear under your clothes in the summer. be safe.
