i always hear those words on shows involving cops

What laws are there in international waters? I though that there were none, but what keeps people from taking someone out to sea and killing them? So there has to be some basic law out there that all or most countries agree on.

And what about cruise ships? They sail into international waters, don't they? Are they like little bits of the country of origin or something, or do they have their own laws?

Any answers would help.

By mistake when I took my diamond into be serviced, I noticed the next morning it was foggy. I took it back to the jeweler to show him and he noticed it too. He was not the one who serviced the ring, but one of his workers. He took his loop and studied the diamond, which he knew quite well from previous work done on my ring, and noticed that the corner of my 2 carat trillion had been chipped. He said he would make it perfect again, but I wouldnt have it for the holidays. He called me today and said the diamond could not be repaired back to its glory and that I needed to come in and sit down with him to decided what we need to do. What should i expect from him? I didnt buy the diamond from him, just the setting. I do have insurance on the diamond, should I contact my insurance agent? What about the sentimental value of my original diamond, doesnt that count? Help please!

this is a high end one owner store.

...although we have nothing to fight over such as kids, property, money, etc? We were only married a couple of months. If it IS considered contested then I have no choice but to hire a lawyer. But if there is nothing to dispute, then can I be granted a divorce anyway? I never did anything to him. I never cheated or anything. He assaulted me, and now I'm trying to divorce him.

My wifes car was broken into, her purse, camera, and sunglasses were stolen. They eventually caught the guy he even put over $1,000 on our credit cards. When he got caught they found a number of purses, firearms, and drugs in the car. Well we found out he is a gang member and my wife has been subpoenaed to testify against him, they are telling my wife she has to do it. I told her to plead the 5th and they told her she couldnt only the prosecuted can. My wife cries at night about this, we cannot afford an attorney. Thanks in advance

What is your opinion of the following government spending...afterall this is YOUR $ (if you pay taxes)

It costs approx $33,000 to keep an inmate in State prison.

It costs approx $110,000 to keep a sex predator in a "treatment facility"

With the number of criminals/sex offenders...Do the math!

How do we resolve this issue?

I was wondering if a photographer who is taking pictures can get sued by someone other then the persons parents? If the pictures arent at all explicit is there anyway that they could get introuble? The parents know they are modeling so they have no problem just the kid is under 18

I have applying for various jobs. Most of them require a backround check. Question: I got a DWI in 1993. Will that show up in my backround check, even though it was over 15 years ago? And if so, would that prevent me from getting hired? Or should I just say "No" when I'm asked if I was ever convicted of a felony or a misderneanor on the application?

I just found out through a family member that 35 years ago when my great grandmother passed away she left her home in a will to me and my brother.both of us underaged at the time.my uncle took over and sold the property to my god parents who lived next door.was my uncle able to do this?can i possibly get the property back. it is located in imperial beach california. Would i need a copy of her will? and how can i get it.She died in imperial beac ,san diego county. any help would be appreciated. thank you

I have been searching online at appellate law firms and find all the websites to be oddly the same. My loved one is dealing with a high felony case and needs an appellate attorney who has great credentials and references. I have looked at the online websites and bar association. But I just don’t want anyone, I want someone who will give my loved one the best possible chance. Is there anyone who can give me someone to look into or a place to go.
P.S. Live in Illinois and don't mind having someone from out of state.

I live in a townhouse and my garage is separate from the house, in a back alley. It is one of three in the back (mine is the middle one). My one neighbor keeps parking his car there. Today I called him twice to move it and he has not done it yet. I told him I don't want anyone parking in front of it (I own it). I don't park in there but I store things in there and can't access it. He doesn't even own any of the other garages - he just doesn't want to park on the street. I had posted a "No Parking" sign on my garage but someone ripped it down. I am not sure what else to do. I had called the parking authority in the past to deal with another neighbor parking there, but they never showed up.

specifically a title...What did you have to do? What fees were you charged? Did you have a lawyer? I just want to register claim to a 4 word Title for commercial use. I'll probably be submitting an electronic application, but I don't know the difference between a TEAS, and TEAS plus application.

I sold a business on 11/1 that I have poured all my energy & heart into for 10 years. It was an integral part of my community and family. I listed w/a realtor who did bring a few parties but no buyer. I listed on Craig's list w/my realtor info and was approached by a woman and her family. She said she had a 'financial partner'. I liked her, I did not like the 'partner' at all. The sale proceeded and I fulfilled all my obligations happily.

The realtor acted as a dual agent. She was aware of my feelings for the partner. I signed the papers first. I rcvd the papers and didn't open them thinking I knew what they said... I opened them just a couple weeks ago and found that the sale was to the 'partner' only! I contacted the realtor and she said they had called the woman and requested an email authorizing this change but she never contacted me and made the change w/my signature already on the contract.

I believe the realtor was just interested in her 10% & I want that $.

i got a 3 phone about 4 yrs ago ,12 month contract,phone broke after a few months so i sent it off to be repaired ,i had insurance for it ,i was messed about too much so i canceled the contact in writing ,when then12 months was up i got abill for over 200 pound ,i thought i had sorted it out ,then 3yrs later i got a letter from hfo asking for 260pound ,then the phone calls started,,and they were not nice,they asked me if i had ever been to court,i said no,she said it,s not nice going to court at your age,they phoned up to 6 times aday &night,now i have got aletter from the solicitors for 355.61pounds,or go to court and have court fees as well to pay,if i go to a solicitor i will have to pay them ,so i can not win,i will still have to pay out ,but i dont want to pay hfo when i dont owe 03 for the phone ,thankyou ,hope some one can help me .

seven $ is not going 2 cut it in these days & time,not 2 mention everybody that goes 2 prison is a criminal
some people have 2 protect their kids,famaily,etc.
i 4 1 do not think jail is worth crap they will make u learn trades that u cannot used when u get out be cause u r a excon soon as the job finds out about you past u dont stand a chance,plus you certifcate will have a prison name on it, any how i think its all a plan 2 keep our loves ones down .

in ky if a parent whose name isnt on a birth certificate, but knows theyre the parent but doesnt make any contact or help financillay support the child, how long is it before its abandonment and what is done about this? is parental rights terminated?
