What is your opinion of the following government spending...afterall this is YOUR $ (if you pay taxes)
It costs approx $33,000 to keep an inmate in State prison.
It costs approx $110,000 to keep a sex predator in a "treatment facility"
With the number of criminals/sex offenders...Do the math!
How do we resolve this issue?

The actual cost of the war is 177mil per day putting the anual cost at $64,605,000,000
The cost of criminals per year at 2 million inmates at the MINIMUM COST OF $33k comes to
$66,000,000,000
NEWS FLASH that is more than the war!

Ahcho, I did live the UK... That is not the question. The question is why do we waste money on social parisites?

We could stop sending people to prison for victimless crimes, especially drug use. 60% of prisoners are there for drug crimes.
But in the bigger scope of things, I'm more worried by the $270 million per DAY that is being spent in Iraq. That's my money, too.

It also costs the government, at the moment, $4.78 to pay a Social Security recipient $1.00 in benefits.
It costs the average private insurance company $0.07 to pay the same $1.00 in benefits.
Do that math. Then remember that the Liberals want the government to take over responsibility for providing medical insurance benefits.
to "Nick" - the war in Iraq consumes well under 5% of the US's total tax receipts. Over 70% of all US taxes go to fund one form or other of welfare program.

i wish it could be resolved.its pretty bad isn't it?makes me sick knowing it cost that much for a disgusting sex predator in a "treatment facility." When it comes to sexual predator child molesters, i wish Vigilant Justice was legal. oh if only.....

Outsource our prisoners to Bangladesh, or some other country in which labor costs are lower.

If you don't like it move to England and see how long you like having to pay their taxes. They take close to 50% of the money you make there.
