My husband (who is a house husband because of disability) has just been taken into hospital really ill. I have worked in my teaching job for 5 years and never had a day off - my husband looks after our 4 children, so i have now had to have time off to visit him and take care of the kids. He was only admitted on Tuesday and work has told me that they want me back in next week! I can't go back cause my hubby is still in hospital and i'm not leaving the kids and anyway, i won't be able to do my job properly with worrying and tiredness. Anyone ever been in the same situation?

the media has turned this thing into a race issue and it's not. that tree that people are calling a "white tree" has been there for a hundred years and was always (understood) for the football team including black players from time to time, some non- football players ask administration for permission to sit there and it was granted. friday there were nooses hung in the tree in school colors just like there were every time the GIANTS played the COWBOYS. the two events had nothing to do with each other or with the near fatal beating Justin barker recieved and by the way he didn't go to a party that night. he went to a ring ceremony to recieve his ring, with his class which he had paid over 300 dollars for and waited 12 yr.s to recieve. he had a severe cuncusion and his right eye was swollen shut, his neck and throat were so bruised he couldn't speak, and he left as soon as he got his ring because he couldn't take the pain any longer sombody need to wake up and ask who the victim is here

How many school and college shootings will it take? You've got a murder rate way higher than most of the world, 4 to 5 times the UK per capita rate.

And before someone starts going on about Dunblane, that was a paedophile who had some form of psychotic break, and a bit different to some hormone sodden teenager who can legally get his hands on a gun. We haven't had a gun rampage sunce we changed the laws. Fewer guns means less gun crimes. Duh. Most British people don't even know what a 'home invasion' is. How hard would that crime be without a gun?

First of all if you say yes or maybe, then the founding fathers had the 1st Amendment wrong.

In my opinion, a yes or maybe answer simply takes the heat off of the people that commit the crimes such as assult, or murder in response to such speech.

People don't realize that when you start saying stuff like "some people are simply not capable of restraining themselves, and so the 'speaker' must be punished when provoking violence with his speech," it just dumps all over The US Constitution and is beginning to limit it, and to what end?

I paid for an item on eBay this past sunday. The seller mailed it on Tuesday and notified me and gave me the tracking number. I tracked it on usps.com and this is what it said:

Label/Receipt Number: 0414 2976 9550 0104 4289
Status: Acceptance

The U.S. Postal Service has received electronic notification from our Automated Postal Center (APC) in SACRAMENTO, CA 95825 on September 18, 2007 to expect your shipment for mailing.

What does this mean? Does it mean she never really sent it? I know the tracking system is a little behind but I've never gotten this notice before. When should I be expecting it if she did send it via Parcel Post? I live in Colorado Springs and the package came from Sacramento.

They oppose a war against terrorism. They think Bush is more evil then Bin Ladin and his terrorists. They want to protect terrorists that call americans from overseas. They don't want to do anything to prevent Iran from building a nuke. Keith Oberman (the biggest idiot since Michael Moore) actually said Bush initiated the war in Iraq.

How could Bush have initiated them when noone can know where a terrorist is hiding every minute of the day? Even the U.S. soldiers in Iraq have trouble finding them. How could Bush know from thousands of miles away?

Please give your take on the situation in Louisiana. Who do you think is right? What do you think it was about? Who do you think is responsible? Do you feel press coverage was accurate or exploitive.

PS I will not pick a best answer since it would not be fair. I'll leave it to the community to decide.

With all of the complaints about America losing jobs to foreign nations, and the recent stories of recalls, will the government look at the way that Businesses are taxed, and the fees that they have to pay just to be in business in the US?

I am a business owner, and by doing things right (licensed, insured, bonded, filing taxes, etc.,), we have to raise the costs of our jobs just to break even . . . can anyone really blame companies for leaving the US?!?

I workED for a small company where there were two owners and two other people icluding me in a small office, no cubicles, just open desks. One owner was, cool & funny, the other was always stressed and always talking down on us and treating us very poorly. I talked to the other person in the office about how she felt about Keith and she says they've had this talk with him before and he's very one sided so when I talk to him about it to have Tuan in the room. I asked the "cool" owner if we could discuss it with him the next day and he agrees. Next day we go in the office, I am more than professional and reasonable. I tell him I am uncomfortable with the way he treats Kiana and I. He spends 30 minutes telling me to "deal with it." We get absolutely no where and I am STUNNED at our conversation. I just sat there with my jaw dropped, it was so crazy. This morning, I'm called into the office and told that they have to let me go because My & Keith's "personalities clash." Is this legal?
