Yes -- being the govt recognized by the US, they have the legal authority to determine who can be in their country.

Just like the US govt has the legal authority to determine who can be in the US.

Despite what the US gov't says, yes they do. We are supposedly there to help them, it would be too openly imperialistic if we continue to shoot civilians and refuse to leave when their gov't demands it.

I say us because Blackwater is operating as a contracted arm of the US gov't. Everything they do reflects on us.

Between the American flag going up when we conquered Baghdad and the constant blunders throughout this I think we've been embarassed enough. Hopefully they can at least stop this one abomination--mercenaries working for the US gov't.

Technically, no, because of a provision setup by the CPA. I don't know how binding the CPA's provisions are on the new Iraqi government. At any rate, it is their government. I'd send them all back on the first plane, although I'm not too crazy about them redeploying to the US....

They could also kick out the American military if wanted to.

The Afghan people have done this a couple of times in history.

Its not the profitable thing to do though, ask the Vietnamese.

A real government would. But Iraq doesn't currently have a real government.
