I don't know what the rules actually are but...........I would think it would be unethical, at the very least.

What the gift is might make a difference though.....if a sweet little old lady were to knit you a scarf just because she likes you it might be different than if she were giving you something of "value" like a gift certificate or something.

IF, say, this sweet little woman had nothing to do with her time other than knit things for people she likes, it might make her tremendously sad for you not to accept it. It might do her a world of good for you to accept something she has made with love just for you. And that IS what social work is all about -- making people feel better.

No its just not ethical.

Edit: Norman - social workers don't just take kids off people. This is a last resort after every other avenue has been exhausted. You obviously don't know anything about social workers. Well seeing you are an ignorant racist aswell

No

No one (including family) can take gifts or otherwise from a mentally disabled person unless the court of protection has given permission

I think if I were a mental case and want to give to a case worker a gift to get me treated better and the case worker don't take it , well , I think I will call him a jackass and go to some one who will be my way !

Do you like O.J. Simpson ? If you do that means you are a nice person too , congratulations !

Social Workers can do what they like. They can take your children off you and you have to prove that they have done wrong, not the other way around.

They are worse then the idle lazy Muslims we have, infesting our land.
