You can, but the court may not accept it. Even though your statement is notarized it doesn't make the person talking any more or less honest. So I can lie in my statement and say I saw so and so key so and sos car and have it notarized.

All a notarized letter proves is that YOU are the one making the statement.

Generally, no -- the role of a witness giving testimony on the stand is unique in most court proceedings.

The alternatives -- a notarized declaration, or a deposition under oath -- can be used in some proceedings -- but are generally not a substitute for being present at a hearing or at trial.

And for criminal trials in the US, the right to confront witnesses is a constitutional matter -- there is no valid substitute.

Check with the atty who summoned you; might be able to swear out a deposition the court will accept in some matters.

Yes you can. But that does not mean that the opposing counsel will accept it. If they want you in court, they will subpoena you and you will have to appear. If you fail to appear on the the summons of a subpoena they will charge you with contempt of court.

I don't think any Attorney for the defense will take that joke as serious !

First , he will like to turn you inside out in front of the jury and make you wimp and scream and get you to contradict yourself as much as possible to get his client out of the hands of the retards who want to send him to prison for something he never dreamed to do !

By the way , do you like O.J. Simpson ? If you like O.J. Simpson then you are a nice person , did you knew that ?
