I live in Iowa, by the way. As I was driving I noticed a lot of flags at half staff today. Does anyone know why?

I personally think they are ridiculous, and see no direct meaning. I can understand a possible drug screen, or a major criminal record, but the credit, and drawn out employment and lien's and bankruptcy bit is unfair. They have agencies that actually do them for companies. I personally appreciate the olden days of taking people at face value untill proven otherwise. I think it's just a ridiculous jump on the bandwagon service, and I don't see it relevant. How do other people feel?

I have been in the same place since June 2006.
I have brought it to the attention of the complex that I am missing a screen on my window (which I noted on my initial walk thru checklist when I first signed my lease), here it is over a year later and I still have not got it.
I have mentioned numerous times that I have some electrical outlets that don't work. The first time I mentioned it I left out of town there after only to find when I got home a week later that my place stunk because they forgot to turn the breaker back on and all my food went bad. They replaced my fridge and payed for the food but I still have outlets that don't work.
Now I'm having the problem of someone from the complex entering my apt while I'm at work and not leaving a notice they had been there, I know because things are out of place. Now I've gone without one of my sinks for over 2 months. I complain and nothing happens. I was 2 busy 2 move and now I'm signed for another year here... what can I do????

Hi:
I just received a jury summon. It tells me to call them or check online 1 day before the summon date for instruction, and I was wondering, if there is a message indicated there is no juror needed on my summon date, do I still need to go to the court or I just ignore it and go to work?
Thanks for answering me.

I want to file a complaint but I am afraid that the whole situation will get worse and the person will retalitate against me. I also feel guilty for letting it go on for so long and not nipping it in the bud. I thought that the person was a friend and had conversations about life, politics, etc. However, this person has been taking it the wrong way and turning the conversation sexual, and saying demeaning things about women in general, and commenting on other females coworkers body parts just to get a reaction. I hate to get people in trouble. But I think the fact that this guy is staying two hours past his shift to talk to me is a bit weird, especially since we have no relationship outside of work. If I avoid talking to him he is offended. I don't like to be a *****, and have all of my other co-workers who are nice walking on ice around me. My husband said that if the woman is talking to the man then its her fault if she gets harassed.

What can I legally do to trespassers.

How can I file a police report if the person runs away, but has vandalized my property?

Do I have the right to restrain them (including minors) until the police come?

If they are vandalising my property can they be physically and forcefully removed (including minors).

If a physical altercation occurs, are we in the right?

in the state of Michigan as long as you are in training. I have looked everywhere to find the answer for this. I am not getting anywhere. Someone who has had experience with this would be a great help. Looking to get into the No worker Left Behind program, but need to know the answer to this first.

For instance, demographically speaking, our states(U.S.) are rich in culture and diversity. Should federal laws always trump those of state laws when it comes down to social/cultural differences among states? For instance, laws that may be deemed suitable for Texas residents is not for those living in New York.

Wouldn't it seem more appropriate for states to carry the burden of legislation and execution of said laws that affect their demograph and not those of another?

Do you think it is a good idea to implement a law that employers should allow employees to leave work to vote? The structure of the idea is fairly simple. The employer allows the person to go vote and they must bring proof they voted. The employer can, but not required to, then pay the employee for upto two hours of work and those two hours are a tax credit for the employer.

share your thoughts on this idea, either positive or negative, but please be respectful.

I was in fort benning ga 2 1/2 years ago and I loved the army unlike most deserters. I had a terrible gambling problem going in. After AIT I went to airborne school where I soon got redirected towards my gambling habits. I lost a lot of money and needed to get some money quick to pay off debts. I asked for a leave to get a loan at a bank near home. They turned it down. Soon I was able to speak to a higher commander who gave me the leave. I won 27,000 dollars gambling during my leave and thought I could do it forever. I was blinded by an illness not because I did not want to fight for our country. I loved being a soldier my father was in the ARMY that's all that I wanted to do growing up. So 2 1/2 years later I have been pulled over 3 times had 2 tickets filed taxes every year and held a job all through out the AWOL/Desertion. I am tired of being ashamed. I am embarrassed of what I done and want to somehow make a good husband and father one day. I have gone to Gamblers Annyonmous and now i want to face up to the Army. I just want it to be known that I did not run because I was scared I want to be apart of the army I want to serve my country I just ****** up.
