Okay, so I was working in the restaraunt, waiting tables the other day. One of the people I waited on was a pompous jerk, scolding me about everthing I was doing. He didn't like the way I styled my hair, the speed with which I served him, complained about the food, everything.

Anyways, halfway through his meal, I started refilling his water glass with toilet water. He noticed right away after he took a sip, my fault for not getting the water out of a cleaner toilet. He ended up storming out, threatening to sue.

It's been a week and we haven't heard anything yet.

I was reading the info. about the Barrett v. Rosenthal case and here is a hypothetical situation.
1. Person a sends a libelous e-mail to person b.
2. Person b takes the libelous e-mail, with permission from person a, and posts it onto a non-interactive website (NOT a blog, NOT a chat room)
Who is legally responsible for libeling person c (person c is the one discussed in the libelous e-mails that were created by person a and posted onto the internet in a non-chat, non-forum, non-blogging website by person b)?
Thanks for your speculation!
P.S.--The key word here is "e-mail" Keep that in mind because that's where the libel started and was then posted on a NONINTERACTIVE website. I would prefer an attorney answer this question. Thanks!!!!!!

I really would like to be the person that goes to a crime scene, takes down evidence, then tries to find the murderer. But I don't want to work on just that one crime my whole life. I was thinking it was a criminal investigator, but that seems to be a police officer. Also, what majors does this job need???

I live in a apt complex. A new tenant moved in about 2 months ago. He likes to play his stereo LOUD. He's already recieved to notices from the manager. One more and he's out. I've tried to speak with him. 2 other people have tried to talk to him as well. I think he's doing it on purpose now just to piss me off. I've been told to call the police. But I'm afraid he's the type that might take revenge. I'm a single woman and going crazy here. I can't sleep well because of all of the noise. Any other suggestions?
Thanks

do you think it violates the fourth amendment?
what is your opinion about it?
How would feel if your conversations were being monitored by the united states government?

Is there any way to stop it?

I watched a show that said the government can even monitor your email conversations.

What do you think about that?

should all of your emails be encrypted so that the government can not read them?

If you find a picture you like. Copy the idea, and take a similar picture. Not taking the first person's picture, just their idea. Someone threatened to sue me over this. I copied their idea.

Please let me know where you got your info.

Sometimes I think the government cares more about people from other countries than it cares about its own, legal citizens.

Can enforcement personnel secretly go through your home while you are away?
Is there any truth to this?

I recieved a dog bite almost a year ago and hired an attorney quickly as the owner of the dogs was not willing to compensate me for my injuries. The owner also refused to give out their homeowner's insurance information, so I had to get an attorney to force them to give it up. I have been recieving medical treatment for my injuries and have a nasty scar on my breast. My attorney wants me to meet with them and the Insurance company to show them my injury in person. I have never heard of this being done before and I don't know if this a smart move on my attorney's part. Plus, I am very self conscious of the way my breast looks and don't like the idea of exposing myself to strangers. To my knowledge no settlement or agreement to do so has been put forth. Is this normal? What should I do?

Before I went on holiday I left my dog with a neighbout who said they would look after the dog when I came back I could not contact the neighbour by phone they did not answer their phone and when I knocked on the door the owner of the property said that the neighbour had moved 1 week ago I was unable to contact the neighbour I gave dog to and he has disappeared!
I went to the police and they said that there was nothing I could do as I gave them the dog!
What if it was a child you gave to someone to look after and they never returned it would it be the same or if a car rental place rented a car to you and you never gave it back would this not be a crime also?

Can someone tell me if this is a crime surely it is as yes I gave the person the dog but to look after and not keep so are the police saying the dog is worth less than other things?
I am in the united kingdom please enlighten me with laws regaring something like this, the police did not even take my name or anything???

I want to do a background check on a person but have found I'll have to pay. I saw one website that advertised free but then I had to go through one of those things where you have to purchase another product. Anyway I was wondering if there's anywhere where I can do a background check and not pay anything. Just a simple check.

I work at a grocery store and there is a bank next to us. There are 2 handicaped spaces. Well I have noticed this porsche parked there every friday during my shift. I really never payed much attention until this old lady comes in almost crying saying that they guy cut her off took the spot and said he would only be a minute. She has had 2 hip surgerys and is painful for her to walk real far. She ended up having to park far down in the parking lot. So I went out and met the guy and he goes so what are you going to do about and gives me this smirk then he floors past a stop sign. So I called the police and told them this and the next week a cop met me and we both waited and sure engough the guy parked there again and ran into the bank. The cop went up and gave the guy a 250$ ticket. The guy was pissed. Then he came up yelling at me and I go well what are you going to do about it and walked away. Im so happy right now! Would you be that happy too?

I was actively recruited by Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas in the summer of 2005. I applied and was accepted. They knew that I was very disabled and needed to have a private room on the bottom floor. I was given a room on the second floor of the dorm, which didn't have an elevator. I was walking up and down stairs multiple times a day for several weeks until the college finally found me a room on the bottom floor. During this time I developed a sore from walking so much, and it ended up getting massively infected. I had to drop out of the college during my second semester there. I filled out the paperwork to get medical leave, and had thought I received it. I was just informed a couple of weeks ago I never received medical leave. After a year and a half of missing school and undergoing multiple surgeries and I.V. antibiotics because of the sore I developed because of Lyon's lack of ADA compliance, I would think I have a case. However, I can't find a lawyer? Who can help me?

It's now the night before (a monday) I'm supposed to show up for Jury Duty at 8AM. The phones are only open from Mon-Fri 9am-4:30pm. I live over an hour away and in a different county, I should be disqualified for living in a different county, but I can't tell anyone that because I can't get in touch with anyone. Should I drive all the way there or should I not go and call at 9am to let them know?

My husband decided that the job he was working was not a stable company. He went in today to turn in his two week notice. His boss, who just "loved his work" told him to bring his things in tommorrow. A nice person turned very ugly. Why would she not want him to work out a notice?

I got pulled over for improper passing and I didn't have my license on me. I thought if you drove without a license that meant you'd get suspended...but the cops told me you don't have to have the card with you. I tried to switch seats with my husband because he had a liscense and I didn't and the cop saw. He told me I made him look like an asshole even though I told him why I did that. I didn't lie to the cop anytime during the investigation and neither did my husband...we didn't try to stop him from searching our car either. He charged both of us with obstructing an officer and me also with improper passing? I thought you only got charged with obstuction if you lied to tried to stop them from doing their job. We didn't do that. Why are we being charged with this crime? Is it fair?
