Okay, so I was working in the restaraunt, waiting tables the other day. One of the people I waited on was a pompous jerk, scolding me about everthing I was doing. He didn't like the way I styled my hair, the speed with which I served him, complained about the food, everything.

Anyways, halfway through his meal, I started refilling his water glass with toilet water. He noticed right away after he took a sip, my fault for not getting the water out of a cleaner toilet. He ended up storming out, threatening to sue.

It's been a week and we haven't heard anything yet.

if you really did serve him toilet water you can get more than sued, if he wanted to he could press charges and have you arrested. It doesn't matter how pompous a person is being it is your job to act responsible and if you can't handle the situation maturely then you ask someone else to handle him like the manager or another waitress. If that had been me i would have had you put in jail.

That is just wrong lol.. People are jerks when it comes to going to a restaurant or actually any service job props to you but at the same time that sucks that you did that. I would have never done that. That is morally wrong. Wow I agree with one of the other answerers you could have dealt with it in another manner by getting your manager to deal with him. Still this is a reminder to everyone be kind to your waiters and waitresses They work for tips and tips only or maybe $2 or $3 an hour but really they work for tips. So don't be stingy. I tip %15. If it is an $8 meal I still tip around 2 or 3 dollars Maybe it is too much but it guarantees I get a quick table and quick quality service cuz they know I tip well. They even give me small conversation and remember things about me. Now I could be a jerk and be like Eww that is just nasty this food is cold blah blah blah but yeah then I might get toilet water or spit in my food or something off the floor in my food or water or coffee. Dude he probably could sue you cuz that is really bad I am sorry to say it, I know he deserved it but it still doesn't give you the right to traumatize him like that.

Remind me to never dine at any restaurant where you may be working. I would say that yes, you can be sued over your little act of revenge. It is not only bad taste on your part, but it could lead to health problems for this individual. Perhaps the reason why you haven't heard anything from this fellow is because he is laid up in the hospital with some kind of illness caused by your bad taste. And if that isn't the case, it takes time to file all the necessary legal papers. So, don't think you are off the hook yet. It could come and haunt you yet.

You know, I work as a waiter, and there are things I would like to do, but would never actually do. Such as that. He might have been a shithead, he might have deserved it, but you still shouldn't have done it.
Here is what is more likely to happen and it is worse.

He will call the police, and have you arrested for contaminating his food.

The board of health will be contacted and the restaurant will be fully inspected, fined, and possibly shut down because of the incident.

you would, of course, be fired.

Your boss can sue you for expense incurred as a result of being inspected, fined and shut down.

You will be in hot water.

This was a bad idea. There less dangerous ways of dealing with asswipes.

You stupid berk, a few drops of urine in the red wine or single malt is a much better bet than filing the water carafe from the bog. I remember old chalky Mugabe, put 10cc of pis in this pompous fools single malt and he raved about it then hit the roof when the next tot was urine free, what a prat.

He could or did not want to pay for his half eaten meal. He did everything except put a cockroach in his plate. Legal advice... Just don't ever tell the truth about the toilet water--legal advice. Lie--OK

I doubt you have the courage to do such a thing. You sound to me like an Internet cowboy.

But if you did it, not only could he sue you, you might well have the district attorney on your case. What you did was tantamount to pointing a loaded weapon at the guy. You, in fact, threatened his life.

I don't know, but if he complains, you can lose your job. He probably can sue you. Next time I go to a restaraunt, I will remember to be very kind the the waiter...

if it's been a week, and you haven't seen him since this incident..... it is unlikely he will sue you. If he did sue you, and you deny that you did refill with toilet water, he probably would a terrible time proving that you really did do that.
