My ex boss is screwing me over big time. I was originally granted benefits ( I got laid off) and then my ex boss wrote the them and told them that he called me back to work. He didn't, he is lying. So now they have denied me future benefits and want me to pay back what I recieved. I am appealing now, but I want to try and win the case. It seems that the Unemployment people are taking his work for it.

A co-worker told me today that he heard of a bill being considered in the legislature to outlaw speaking Spanish in public places--that is, that it would be illegal to speak the language in a private conversation. I don't speak Spanish, but I find it so appalling and shocking that anyone would consider this within the bounds of constitutionality that I find it hard to be true. Can anyone direct me to an article or government site discussing this kind of law? If it's real, I'd like to write a strongly-worded letter to my congressman!

At my last job I work in a very small interior office with a fellow from Russia. This man did not shower and he smelled really bad. He would also pick his ears and look at the wax all day. He would cough without covering his mouth literally on the side of my face. He also did a host of other groos stuff.

I went to my manager several times to complain about this and nothing was ever done. Eventually I started to see a shrink about the situation which cost me money. Then one day I could not take it anymore and I told management that I could not work in the office anymore because I am getting mentally and physically ill. They did nothing so I left.

Now I am fighting to get my unemployment benefits and I am broke.

This man scared me mentally. Management did nothing about the situation until it was too late. My wife and I would fight because of the built up stress from every day. What can I do?

I know they are illegal in some states, but are they illegal in COLORADO? I honestly don't want to hear about the laws in other states. Also, is there a good online resource where I can look up the gun laws in Colorado without opinions, just what the law says?

I started seeing a new psychiatrist. I met with him once and he told me he needed all records before prescribing anything to me. I got my records faxed and he said he needed to see me again. $325 for first visit and who knows for today. He knew I lost my job and ins is ending soon. He's saying I have a personality disorder based on my calling his office too many times. I went in today and he still wouldn't give me anything. Said patient's financial situation doesn't matter to him. I'm very disappointed and I haev left crying both times. Do I have to pay? I haven't yet. Can I refuse to pay?

I was advised to turn in an affidavit and send it in with my petition for legal name change explaining more clearly my reason for wanting the name change. Is there a special format that an affadavit must be written in? I understand that I have to sign it in front of a notary, but do I just type out a statement explaining why I want the name change and then sign it? Please let me know. Thanks. :)

Me and my feionce got rear ended on the 9th. The one who hit us lied on her police report and no one seems to care. She admitted fault, but I am afraid that her lies will get us introuble.

Also our lawyer said it would take up to 1 year to settle. Shouldn't it be sooner.

Oh I forgot, the tire marks from her skid out were aprox 148 feet long. She said she just tapped us and didnt think a need for injury claims!

I just want to know if it sounds ok to you?

Okay the papers were signed (contract) 7-3-07, and on 7-6-2007 it started having problems with it. They told me it was in good condition and had nothing wrong with it. It is turning out to be a lemon, but I (roommate) am under contract. Thank God it's still under factory warranty. Isn't there a law that forbids dealers from selling lemons without first telling the person that the auto has problems?

My sister lives with the father of her child. They are not married. They got in a big fight where he was up in her face and all and she wanted to take the baby and go stay the night at our grandmother's house. He said if she did that he would call the cops on her and say she kidnapped the baby. Could he really do that?

The total number of units are 3. On the listing for the unit, it was listed as having 2 off-street parking spaces. Our purchase and sale agreement has this listed in the description of the property. During the whole transaction and even the day we signed the house papers, we asked several different people, including neighbors to left, about the parking situation since we observed that there were only 5 spaces. We were assured every time that we had a total of 2 spaces, the neighbors to the left had 2, and the neighbor to the right had 1.

Now, our neighbor is disputing this even after showing him our paperwork with this on it. Our condo by-laws state that we have a 33.3% interest in the common area which includes the parking lot.

We went to city hall and told them our situation and looked into adding a 6th space on the property. We were told that we could not at a space and that we had 1 and a half parking spaces between the 3 units.

What can we do? This affects two units.

Hi my husband and i have been living in our house for 10+ years. We have just recently found out that our shed has been on our neighbors property by an inch. We found out by her suddenly suing us for 10,000 dollars. We tried to buy the inch off of her but she wont sell it. I mean the shed it only about 10 by 10 feet. Also, she said if we pay for a survey and move the shed she would call off the lawsuit. We did but she continued to sue. What should we do?

My sister was sexually harassed by a coworker. He did things like ask her to tell him sex stories and kissed her on the cheek and neck. They are independent contractors, meaning they are kind of self-employed. They have one boss, but no Human Resources Department. If this one boss chooses to do nothing about the claims that have been made, what are her options? I have a feeling he's going to choose to take no action. This took place in San Francisco, CA

OK, I've been trying to get a divorce from my abusive husband for 6 months. I just went to a child support hearing with my lawyer on Friday and the judge said I am certainly owed support, but she has no jurisdiction because the father is in OK and I'm in FL. She said the interstate unit of the Child Support Enforcement agency is supposed to handle my case. The problem is, they aren't. I opened a case with them almost 11 months ago, and they still haven't given me a file number or attempted to find this deadbeat at all. I've called about it, my lawyer has called about it, and they still haven't pursued the case. The judge said for the lawyer to contact a specific person at Child Support Enforcement and that she'd even meet with that person and the lawyer to find out why they aren't doing their job, and if they aren't going to, the judge said she would enter an order for support. As far as the divorce decree goes, the lawyer says he could get it finalized next week, but he wants

I'm the moving party (respondent) in a child custody and visitation case. The petitioner has not filed a response or opposition to my petition not even so much as a fee waiver, she has not participated in the settlement conference. The courts have somehow managed to move this case into trial. I'm trying to figure out what is the judges options if the party doesn't show to this intial trial and the party has not filed anything in response?...... Keep in mind, that I realize and believe that this case should have went into default due to the lack of response but that did not take place....?

White House Manual for Silencing Critics
By Matthew Rothschild
The Progressive

Monday 09 July 2007

So the truth comes out.

After a myriad of stories about people being excluded from events where the President is speaking, now we know that the White House had a policy manual on just how to do so.

Called the "Presidential Advance Manual," this 103-page document from the Office of Presidential Advance lays out the parameters for how to handle protesters at events.

"Always be prepared for demonstrators," says the document, which is dated October 2002 and which the ACLU released as part of a new lawsuit. (For a copy of the lawsuit or the document itself, go to www.aclu.org/freespeech/protest/silenced.html.)

In a section entitled "Preventing Demonstrators," the document says: "All Presidential events must be ticketed or accessed by a name list. This is the best method for preventing demonstrators. People who are obviously going to try to disrupt the event can be denied entrance at least to the VIP area between the stage and the main camera platform.... It is important to have your volunteers at a checkpoint before the Magnetometers in order to stop a demonstrator from getting into the event. Look for signs they may be carrying, and if need be, have volunteers check for folded cloth signs that demonstrators may be bringing."

I was supposed to appear in traffic court, earlier today Mon. 7-16), as a witness to an auto accident. I honestly thought that it was supposed to be Wed., 7-18, I even wrote that down on my calendar. I just looked at the notice to verify the time, and realized that it was today's date. I really do feel bad for not appearing and was willing to go (on Wed.). I tried calling the phone # on the letter to ask, but was on hold for 25 min. Am I in trouble?

a supreme court bench comprising two judges namely mr praysat and jain ensured a spoke on the BC reservation in higher educations . it was their interpretations of the constitution. Now suppose three bench uphelds the decision . what could be next ? appeal for maximum no of judges to decide. supreme court NRI ( SORRY INDIA ) is in the hands of the upper crusts ( read caste hindu ). and the constitution bench will always have the majority to uphold the decision mr prayasat and jain . interpretationand english may vary. we there fore are not impressed.BC/OBCs are in majority. Bill PASED BY THE majority in the parliament must be complied with. in case supreme court comes in between it can be dissolved till inequality in the society is uprooted by empowering the majority . a few judges can not be allowed to hold majority's interest ( rightful ) at ransom at any cost.
