This just happened at the bank I use to work at. A teller was telling others about a business's acct. The business owners filled out an affidavit and the employee was fired. The manager should do something, if not go to someone above them in the bank.

You probably could file a lawsuit, but it's unlikely you would win anything, because you have to prove that the leak of information caused some damage to you. That being said, what that teller did was unprofessional and illegal, and should be reported. The corporate headquarters of that bank, the Better Business Bureau, the Federal Deposit Insurance Commission (FDIC) and whomever controls banking in your state (Google your state's office of finance or something) are just a couple of names that spring to mind, and you should contact them and file an official complaint. That way, there will be an official record of what happened and the action that the bank took (or didn't take) to remedy the situation will be a matter of record.

I work at a bank as a teller, she was very wrong, however I don't think the bank is a fault rather the teller, and unless you've suffered a loss I doubt you have much of a case.

I doubt that you have a strong enough case to sue, but I agree it was wrong of the teller to reveal personal information about you to someone else. If nothing is done about it, to your satisfaction, just simply change your account to another bank.

There isn't much you can do. If you called the branch manager and aren't happy with the responce trying going over his head and contacting someone at their corporate offices. If the teller is a good employee she'll probably get spoken to and if she is a bad employee they'll proabably fire her.

yeah. it's illegal for her to tell anyone information about your account, unless they are on the account or have written consent from you or a court order or something like that. you could probably file charges. talk to an attorney. i can't believe the girl isn't fired.

yes you can
however i cant imagine why you would care
i would report it to a manager and possibly have that person fired and then move the money to a different bank...but a lawsuit? that is pretty lame.
