Telemarketers from Insurance Services keep calling my place of business. I have been instructed by the business owner who is also my father-in-law to tell them that we are not interested and would they please not call again. They continue to call. They call at least five times a day. The last time they called I got a little upset and told the guy that I have told them several times that we are not interested. He actually yelled at me and said that it was the first time that he ever called. When I started to tell him that I was referring to his entire company and not just him, he actually hung up on me. These people want to sell me something, yet they continue to harass me and are outright rude. Is this professional behavior? Would you buy a service from a company that treated you like this? Am I the only one who gets harassed by telemarketers? How do they stay in business when they treat people this way?

I would prefer that only an attorney answer this question to make sure it is accurate. I do not believe that anyone can foreclose on you except a mortgage company, am I right?

Within the past couple months, I applied and interviewed for a Federal job that I'm very confident I should have got. Regardless, was only told 'not accepted' w/o a reason. Thought I had a right to be told 'why.' I've tried to obtain a reason with no luck. I need to know if this job is worth my job pursuing. No matter what I want the reason. Thanks.

I have been trying to sell my paintball gun for a while now

i posted a listing on myspace
and some lady wanted to buy it

she asked if i wanted a check or money order

which now i realize i should of just said cash only

but i said money order for a specific amount

well anyways i get a package in the mail with

Three Money Orders for $825

without even telling her she sent me an email saying there was a mistake and the secratary at her work sent her paycheck instead of the price i wanted for my paintball gun

She tells me cash the money orders at the bank and take the money out for the paintball gun and her son will come pickup the rest this week

so i told my parents, i got yelled at
we're gonna call and see if they can verify the money orders

but im waiting for my dad to get home so we can email her back

Also the money orders are all from Walmart by Moneygram
and i cant find any anticonterfit things on them and i cant make out the signature

I was recently involved in a car accident, and the other driver was drunk. I ha d a new 07 Eclipse that was totaled, and my wife was sent to the hospital with a few bumps, minor whiplash and a knee strain that put her on crutches for a few days. The next day we were went to Las Vegas on a planned trip and couldn't do much the first few days due to my wife being on crutches. The other guys insurance company offered us $1,000 dollars to settle. My insurance only covered $20,000 of my car that costed me 25,000. Should I take this settlement or am I entitled to more. ( I have contacted lawyers but for the fee I would have to pay its really not worth hiring one) I am also a 100% disabled veteran who just got out of the hospital less than a year ago and this is the last thing I needed. What do you think?

I do because no precious child needs some pervert, abuser, or financially unstable person to be parenting them. If you think this is like the "morality police", guess what? Some idiots are so stupid and disgusting that they need to be policed morally. CHILD ABUSE IS MY BUSINESS, and should be everyone's business. If people can't take care of their children properly, they do not deserve to have them. That's my belief and I'm stickin to it.

Policy reads in full:
Smoking is prohibited during business hours, on company premises, and while conducting
business at customer sites. It is company’s preference to hire only non-smokers.

Company is not the owner of the building which resides in Pennsylvania. There are also remote offices throughout the US with individuals where this policy is not enforcable (especially since some of these offices reside inside personal residences.) There are also China offices where I am not sure if this policy even applies.

My ex of 2 years is suing for half-million dollars , due to what he claims was wrongful termination , after being arrested for domestic violence against me . the union through Brown County Mental Health ,has found an atty. for him in Madison , WI. By the way it is also coming out of Green Bay taxpayers . The term. letter stated that he could be a threat dealing with those who have mental illness ! I am the victim as his suit sits at the Supreme Court level . This is wrong , he said it has nothing to do with his performance at work (because this hapened at home). Arrested probation (that was a joke ), anger mgmt. never finished ! Was able to hire an atty. in Green Bay , WI. Royce Finne who got all of his charges dropped or reduced! If he should win this suit ,what are we telling abusers , ? Do I have any recourse to the said lawsuit if he wins for Domestic Violence ? Who do I contact, please don't tell me to start calling around . I lost everything !, Where are my rights ????

Last week my house got broken into. I moved out the next day. I felt very unsafe living there after that. I'm a single mother with 2 small children. My landlord is now trying to make me pay for the remainder of my lease (which isn't up until Feb 08) and trying to make me pay for the door. I did not break my door in, the intruders did. I also paid a $400 deposit. The house (other than the back door) is in the same shape as when I moved in. I even cleaned everything up really nice. I live in Alabama by the way if that makes a difference. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

My vehicle was towed this mornining from in front of my home in my assigned parking space. I live in a community that has an ASSociation and appearantly if your vehicle has expired tags, they tow it. My tags were not expired, I just forgot to put the little renewal sticker on it. There was no warning notice or anything left previously. The car was obviously towed by these vultures that drive around through communities at 2 - 3 A.M. with their lights off just looking to tow cars. There are signs posted in my community that say unauthorized vehicles will be towed, however my vehicle is authorized to be there and has been there for months. Do I have any recourse and / or how can I find out what the laws and regulations are regarding the towing of vehicles from private property. Thank you in advance for any insight.

I am a security supervisor for a major company contracted by a security company. The manager was fired three weeks ago due to complaints people calling off and treating people badly. Since then I have been acting in that position but have been dogged out by the company. They told me they wouldnt pay me anymore money that I wasnt worth anymore and they dont want me in that position but when they asked the client has there been any problems since ive been charge they said no. But my company wants me out and wants to put a 65 year old man in this spot. Today they came in and changed the schedule after I worked it out and they are shorting my officers paychecks and not supporting me or the officers. I have several people ready to quit including myself. I am truly stressed out and cant take the bull no more what should I do quit or stay?

While on prescription drugs the day after a horrendous accident involving my daughter and myself, an "ambulance chasers" assistant came to my home and "talked me into signing" a contract to have this attorney represent me. What, as i later discovered, was a probable 6 figure settlement, turned out to be settled by this attorney for approximately 12K. In addition ,after the settlement was paid and I reluctantly accepted the check, I have been informed that my health care provider will possibly place a lien on my home for the reimbursment of my hospital bills. The attorney seems to be very disinterested in discussing this matter due to the fact that he's received his 33% fee. This particular attorney states that despite the horrendous nature of the accident, that there was no justification in more settlement money because "Thank God!" there were only soft tissue injuries to my daughter and myself. I'm not sure of my recourse, with regard to sueing this attoney. Can some light be shed?

OK, Texas is the nation's leader in execution of those who commit capital crimes. How do they define what does and doesn't qualify for the death penalty?

It seems to me that lighting someone on fire and trying to burn them alive is particularly heinous.

So if this guy is facing a maximum of life in prison, what, pray tell, justifies the death penalty?

(Disclaimer: The asker of this question is anti-death penalty)

To Donna Bakaitis, her oldest son didn't die trying to steal copper wire from the Radford Foundry. Instead, she said, he died while doing his best to try to provide for his family, something he had done since he was a teenager.

Christopher Brandon Goad, 24, died shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday at the DeCamp Burn Center at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center in Charlottesville.

Burned everywhere except his feet Thursday, he clung to life for more than eight hours after being removed from life support about noon Sunday, his family said.

Goad and his stepfather, Stephen Edward Bakaitis, 46, were both severely burned during what police are calling a break-in that went terribly wrong. Donna Bakaitis said Goad used a hacksaw to cut into a live 4,160-volt foundry wire early Thursday morning.

So what do you think about this? Do you support her answer. To me, he was stealing regardless...
