I have been trying to sell my paintball gun for a while now

i posted a listing on myspace
and some lady wanted to buy it

she asked if i wanted a check or money order

which now i realize i should of just said cash only

but i said money order for a specific amount

well anyways i get a package in the mail with

Three Money Orders for $825

without even telling her she sent me an email saying there was a mistake and the secratary at her work sent her paycheck instead of the price i wanted for my paintball gun

She tells me cash the money orders at the bank and take the money out for the paintball gun and her son will come pickup the rest this week

so i told my parents, i got yelled at
we're gonna call and see if they can verify the money orders

but im waiting for my dad to get home so we can email her back

Also the money orders are all from Walmart by Moneygram
and i cant find any anticonterfit things on them and i cant make out the signature

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO you just think they are from Walmart....Scam Scam Scam

they are made on the computer and printed on a color printer...do not fall for this...you cash them...your bank will come after you.

i would send them back with black magic marker written on them " VOID".

plus if this was my paycheck..I'd be yelling that i need the money...this is a scam...do not fall for this.

good luck

It's a scam. She's asking you to cash the money order with your own money and give her the balance between what she owes from the paint-ball gun and the total amount on the money order. By the time you realize the money order is a fake, you'll have given her your own cash from your own checking account and you'll have a bounced check fee (or several fees) on your hands.

This happened to my uncle on eBay. He was selling a piece of furniture and a man sent him a check for way over the amount of the furniture. The man said, "Just cash the check and send me back the difference between the check amount and the amount I owe you for the furniture," which was to the tune of several thousand. He was counting on the fact that my uncle had enough money in his account to pay the man the difference without having to wait until the check cleared, because obviously the check would not clear - it was fraudulent. Fortunately for my uncle, he's broke almost all the time, and he did wait for the check to clear, only to receive a call from his bank that it didn't. While he had to pay a fee, he didn't lose several thousand of his own money.

Just send back the money orders in full (un-cashed) to her work and explain that you changed your mind about selling your paint-ball gun.

And you can tell this woman is scamming you because 1) a person would FREAK OUT if a secretary sent her paycheck amount, 2) there's no way anyone would trust a person to cash the money order and voluntarily give over the balance, and 3) she won't see you in person, she's sending her "son." Let me tell you right now - her "son" is the one emailing you. No woman exists. He's just adopting that persona so you'll trust him more.

Best to simply burn the money orders and when she comes to collect either the money or the gun...simply giggle and say, "Oh, muh darlin, oh muh darlin, oh muh darlin', Clementine..."

By the way...Does anyone in their right mind send CASH through the mail?

WHEN ARE YOU PEOPLE GOING TO LEARN??-BUYING OVER THE INTERNET IS DODGY. rule number one in business (as observed by ebeneezer scrooge)-never part with the goods until you have the cash in hand.
