I divorced my husband a year ago when he stole all my belongs, ran off to AZ, moved in with another woman, and completley cut off all comminication with me. ....that is until he found himself in jail for failure to pay child support!! Then the love letters and phone calls started pouring in. This last year had been such a painful year due to the abandoment/ betrayal issues that I haunted me after he walked out. Plus I was still in love with him so when he finally started communicating with me and telling me how much he'd missed & loved me. I was happy. To make a long story short, he begged me out of $2000 for a non-refundable bail (he forgot to mention that) so he could come home to be with the woman he truly loved. Promising everything possible to make up for the hurt he'd caused. U guessed it..as soon as he bailed out..he dropped communication with me and moved in with the same woman he was initally with! He told me he'd pay the $ back...yeah right??! Can I sue him to get $ back?

I truly feel that it is a discrimination against smokers. Surely if signs state that smoking takes place on the premises then non-smokers have the choice whether to enter the premises or not, just as smokers have the choice whether to enter non-smoking premises. I realise that in work places where there's both smokers and non-smokers that it shouldn't be allowed but surely in public places i.e. pubs and clubs this should be allowed. And yes i do know that bar workers have rights too but surely they're aware that smoking takes place in them places so again if they don't like smoking then don't work in a pub or club. Also don't prison officers count then cos as i believe it there's not going to be a ban on smoking in prisons and what about the non-smoking prisoners? It seems to me that the ban is very contradictory.

I got pulled over for not wearing my seat belt and got a $40.00 ticket. I think this law really sucks. What crime are we breaking? If I don't want to wear a seat belt, I should not be fined for it. The risks I choose to make should be up to me. Why don't they start giving out tickets to everyone who eats at McDonalds or White Catles. You're endangering your life there also. This is just a money making scheme for the local governments and you know what...I'm just not going to pay it. I've had it with all these stupid laws. Let them spend their time chasing after real criminals.

After 6 years together, and no abusive history, my spouse and I both lost our jobs and allowed our stress to make us fight more, and at times get physical. My spouse was arrested and convicted of spousal abuse this past December, and since his release, we have been trying to rebuild our family, careers and relationship. Yet now that those labels have been placed (unwantingly)on us, the law is actually now making things worse for us and holding us back from moving forward. I am not a victim, but they say I am and for that I am in "denial" and not a credible witness, basically a liar, WHICH IS COMPLETE BULL****!. And my spouse is a hideous wife beater who belongs in jail with the murderers, rapists and child molesters, which is also JUST PLAIN WRONG! He's facing another arrest now because of false statements given by neighbors who hated us, and I, the person they are saying he hit, has no say to be heard! They don't believe me or my daughter! The prejudged stereotype has to end! HELP!

My son's father wants me to sign an agreement that my son will not ever call anyone else but him father. My son is almost 8 and has always known who is father is, even before he actually met him two years ago. Now I had been married from the time he was 2 until he was 4. He called him dad then I met my daughter's father and he called him by his first name. Now my fiancee has been in his life for almost two years. He loves him so very much as does my fiancee. Is there a legal aspect that could let this actually be put into place?

My brother doesnt want me to move and hates my husband and has said if I ever try to move , he will call cps, have the children taken away and given to him and I will have nothing. Its just a tactic to make me stay in closer proximity to him. What is my recourse as my children overheard this threat, are scared now and I am very uncomfortable that he will carry out his threats.

MY Sister is the EXECUTOR of my Mother's very small estates (less than $15000). What would a reasonable fee be for acting as the Executor of the estate.

Basically she arranged for the cremation, closed her bank accounts, gathered the funds into one account and is now ready to disburse them.

THANKS, EVERYBODY !!!!!

I've worked at this place for a year now. I'm not a receptionist but i do cover the phones, when its needed. One receptionist quit, and they tried asking everyone to cover phone except me. Then finally they asked me because they ran out of options. They changed my hours around to cover the receptionist spot. They didn't ask me to be receptionist, just to change my hours and cover phones. Now thier posting a receptionist position in the paper, looking for someone to fill my time slot. The boss acts aloof around me, i feel ignored, and underappreciated by everyone. Everyone is so secretive, i only found out about the position in the paper because the lady call from the newspaper while i was covering phones. Are they looking for someone to be receptionist so i can go back to my old hours, or give me the boot? i need advice, thanks

I am confused, we are told that we live in a free country. However, we are constantly told we cannot do things that we should be allowed to do. When we are charged with a crime we are told that we are innocent until proven guilty but are not treated as such. When we do finally get a trial to be judged by a jury of our peersthey are instructed that if they have ANY reasonable doubt that they cannot find us guilty. How does someone convict someone and NOT have a doubt? Unless I was there to see the crime myself I would always wonder if I sent someone that was innocent to prison."

According to California & U.S. laws, how long is too long to be ignored by a boss? My cousin was a no-show for a day and angered her boss. Now her boss isn't calling her with any new work hours or assignments. I don't think my cousin did the right thing, but now I'm also curious. If the boss continues to not repond to calls, how long before my cousin should do something? What should she do once her work has been uncommunicative for that long?

I've been reading about the economic impact of illegal immigrants . . . and I can understand the added cost to education and health care . . . but it seems like the other programs require social security numbers to qualify. If illegals can not get ss numbers legally, they must be doing it through other means . . . Do you think that in addition to securing our borders our social security system needs to be secured as well? This would certainly limit the economic impact of illegals . . . If you know how they receive these benefits (other than fraud) let me know. Any information or thought is appreciated. Thanks.
