My friend just went through a breakup from a longterm relationship. She recieved gifts from her boyfriend, some exceeding a few hundred dollars (jewelry, trips, etc.). Now that they are broken up, he is asking for reimbursement for those. Does he have any legal precedent to claim that?

It seems that the main argument that illegal immigrants use is that it is unethical to split parents and children, why dont they just take them with them, if there are any parents who would be willing to abandon their children because of that, I would have to say that thay are bad parents and that they should not blame the government for their own mistakes.

Guardianship of my children was given to my mother with no service to me. I found out months later. There was no investigation of me or notice of anything. She told police officers that nothing was filed in the courts just the day after she did file the papers. I am a military wife and so have had to move from the area she is in. This all happened in Stanislaus County California and I am now in Colorado. The accusations she made were false then and are still false now. Can anyone help me?

My ex and I have been divorced for 2 years, seperated for 4. We have a 6 year old daughter. We currently have joint custody, I am the primary residential parent. We had in our papers that the other parent could not move more than 50 miles away without the other parent agreeing. There is no child support, I waived that since we share custody. I am wanting to move 52 miles away back to where I am from. She will still be able to be with her father on the same days he has her now, she just wont be able to spend the night except on the weekends. Can I move? What can he do? Will he have to get a lawyer to fight me? Can they do anything to me?....please help?

my son has been attending daycare for about 3 months. When I first brought him there, I told the director that I had full custody (physical and legal) and my husband had supervised visitation, we have a separation agreement, not a court order because we are not divorced. She said it was fine, that if my husband ever showed up, she would call the police and me, and not hand him over. A few weeks later, she came to me and said she needed a court order otherwise if he showed up she would hand him over to him. I told her is wasn't possible since I am not divorced. She was rude, and told me I was wrong. So I paid a lawyer $200 to tell me I was right and if she turned him over to my husband, she would be aiding in federal parental kidnapping. My lawyer explained this to her and I thought that was the end. I picked up my son up today and the director said she kicked him out. She claims she gave me 30day notice I asked for it in writing and of course she didn't have it. Can she do this?

Dear All,

For the sake of simplicity and easier to administrate, we have decided to combine the 2 sick days and 3 personal day (including 1 floating day) to become 5 personal/sick days per employee per year effective 1/1/06.

Please refer to the attached PDF file for number of personal/sick day eligible according to your date of employment.

Please note that personal/sick days do not carry over if unused.

So, here's the story as short as I can make it. My friend has been in jail for five years awaiting trial for the murder of his father and his step-mother. They treated him like a slave at home, and they sexually abused him and his sister. He shot them when he was 16, then took a cell phone and car to his friend's house and told his friend (and me) that they had kicked him out and told him not to come back. He stuck to this story for two weeks, until the bodies were found and he was arrested at my house. So, if you were on the jury, what would your verdict be? Guilty, Not Guilty, or Insane (I think they are going to have him plea insanity). I'll be a witness at the actual trial in a few days, but I wanted to get some other opinions on this.

im researching a paper about the law, and i need to know how long after someone files a complaint with the court will the charges be dropped? (the case be closed?)
*** just where the person breaks the law***
the case would not be pursued but the complaint would be filed, when would the complaint not be eligible to appear in court anymore?
i heard it was three months but im just wondering.
