Sorry Anthony... Unless your employer stated upfront that they'd pay you time and 1/2 for working Sundays, they are not obligated to do so. The only exception would be if you had already worked 40+ hours during the 7 day pay period that the Sunday work occured in. Anything over 40 hours, in a given week, must be paid at time and 1/2 (federal labor law)... unless you're salaried and not hourly.

No, it is perfectly legal for an employer not to pay time and a half on Sunday. An employer is only obligated to pay time and a half if you are working overtime (more than 40-50 hours a week depending on the state).

The law only requires time and a half pay for all hours worked over 40 hours in one week. It does not require time and a half for Saturday, Sunday, or time worked on a holiday. Nor does it require time and a half for any week you get paid for a holiday and your total hours paid are in excess of 40 hours. You only get paid time and a half for all hours ACTUALLY WORKED in excess of 40 hours a week.

No. If your contracted hours include sundays, then you are only entitled to a normal hourly wage. If you work extra, most places do offer enhanced pay

No it isn't illegal. No employer would pay time and a half on a Sunday anymore.

Depends entirely on what your contract says in respect of overtime, weekends and public holiday pay. If you don't have or have never signed a contract, you are pretty much screwed and they can do as they like.

They can pay you what they want, so long as it is at least the minimum wage. If you don't like it. someone else will be happy to do your job.
