She's been calling my boss to get her sister into the company and on my team for months now (I don't want to hire her; she's interviewed but has issues that may conflict with her being able to do her job). How do I report this, and to whom?

She's been calling my boss to get her sister into the company and on my team for months now (I don't want to hire her; she's interviewed but has issues that may conflict with her being able to do her job). Unfortunately, he wants me to hire her. How do I report this, and to whom so that I stop being bugged by my boss?

If it is state government call the attorney general, if it federal call the US attorney's office.

This answer is probably only valid in the UK, so apologies if not relevant - the government department/authority should have a whistleblowing policy, to allow concerns about the conduct of their employees to be reported. It should be on the website of the organisation, or alternatively there may be another complaints/reporting procedure.

Alternatively, contact her boss and explain the situation - they might be able to receive your report or otherwise tell you the correct person or organisation to contact.

Make it clear to your boss what your concerns are about hiring the person and then have him/er call the government employee's manager or even the regional manager.

I would make it very clear to your supervisor why you don't want this person to work for you or with you. I would also report this activity to the supervisor of the government employee. I believe that you would be protected from retribution by whistleblower laws.
