this is a really contraversial question, but do you think that people should have to have certain tests to make sure theyre mentally stable, able to look after a child before they have one or is it anyones right to have a child? i watched a programme where this blind couple had kids so they could look after them,i think thats wrong. Also know of drug addicts that have kids too get themselves housed...etc

I cannot understand how gun control would have altered this situation at ALL!

If guns were 100% illegal in this country, this guy would have either gone underground to buy a gun, or simply used a bomb, right? After all, drugs are illegal in this country, and those are not impossible to get, so illegal guns would not be impossible to buy, either.

If we enact any other gun control measures in this country (no guns for felons, mentally unstable people, etc.), what would say that this guy could still have bought a gun? He may have never purchased a gun in his life, his mind might have been completely normal (at least, as far as a test was concerned)

So how could gun control have changed the situation? The only way I can see is that the anti-gun law on college campuses prevented a student from packing heat during the incident and putting a stop to the whole thing.

Can someone please explain how gun control would have prevented this???

When a court sentences a person to AA, doesn't that violate the separation of church and state doctrine? AA uses religion in its program. They start and end meetings with prayer.

My friend has multiple dogs. They bark. The neighbors call the cops and she gets a $140 ticket. They call again. She gets a $280 ticket. I bought her one of those electronic gagets for $85 to stop barking. What a rip. Did nothing. Dogs still barked. Now she is going to court to 'fight it'.

I just saw the movie Bannished which shows descendants of a few of the thousands of black families that where run out of prodomenently white counties as late as the 1920s and forced to abandon their land and it brings up the case of reparations. One family requested the city return the land that was stolen from them, another requested the town pay to remove his deceased great-grandfather's remains from the town that ran out his family to the final resting place of his other relatives. These are reparations! I personally have no need for any reparations, but don't you feel that people who have suffered in the manner deserve something for what generations of their family has been through? I do especially since in 1988 the US gave $20K to Japanese-American descendents whose families were in US "holding" camps (pretty much concentration camps) during WWI and even Germany paid $5 billion to Holocaust descendants. A reparations bill has been vetoed for the past 16 years. What do you think?
