Depends on why it would be banned. By outlawing a substance that does not infringe on other peoples rights(annoying smells are not an infringement on your rights people) it would infringe on your right to "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness", the foundation of the Bill of Rights.

Now on the flip side I have a pretty severe allergic reaction to some perfumes. It really doesn't cause a danger to me but I have heard of cases of Anaphalactic(sp?) shock experienced by people with a severe reaction to perfume. In a case where a substance could be deadly to another person then it would not be an infringement on your rights to take away your favorite perfume. Look at the second hand smoke debate as your example in this case.

No, the ban is often necessary in the workplace, because perfumes can affect people with allergeis. Basically, you can't by your behavior hurt other people.

In our office, since we have several people with chemical and perfume allergies, there are no scents/sprays or even orange-scented cleaning materials.

sometimes women (mostly) put on so much perfume I almost gag...I can't imagine what they're thinking....Do they stink so much they have to bathe in the stuff? Women usually have a lot more sense than men in areas of personal hygiene, but sometimes they think everyone should share this (to them) wonderful smell...Although normally, I can appreciate a woman's perfume, too much is sickening

I have allergies and all of that "second hand" perfume is violating my rights. I say we move to ban perfume in public places. After all I have a right to be allergy free....I love sarcasm.

What? Did I miss something? It would be a much stinkier world without perfume or cologne or deodorant or body spray so I guess the freedom from B.O. could impact our personal freedom. Freeedom from stench. LOL

no more so than the smoking bans. both can be a health hazard or offensive, taking away freedoms is not the answer

Most perfume smells like kerosene to me. I would be much happier. But I know people like me with allergies are in a minority, so I just suffer.
