I am not for banning legal firearms, but illegal firearms are far to available to anyone who wants them. We need more action at the federal and state level, you sell a gun illegally, you lose your right to own a gun! You smuggle firearms illegally, you spend at least a decade behind bars!

Lets stop this NRA funded nonsense of putting more guns on the streets to make everyone "safer" more guns on the streets will only cause more gun violence. Lets regulate firearms more effectively.

Just wondering about possible future careers and would like to know what you need to do to become a lawyer, how many years at university and what you do when you become one?

a law fim called me yesterday and told me that i need to pay 1000 now for a cc company. the thing is i never recieved anything from the cc company stating it was going to collections. the lawyer dug into my mothers information and she is not on the cc. he even told me that i was dumb for being a relationship where my fiancee has 2 kids from a previous relationship, and told me to go get a checking account with my name on it only. he then told me to borrow the money from my mother to pay the amount. he also then got mad at me because i didnt have my checking account number handy for him. does this sound legit

So, the media is giving Virginia Tech a hard time because they didn't cancel classes after the first shooting. Let me ask this - the shooter was a student who lived in the dorm. Isn't it pretty obvious that he would have simply started shooting in one of the dorms had classes been cnacelled? I'm confused about what good cancelling classes would have done.
Maybe earlier notification of the first shooting would have been nice - but how do you really plan for some mentally ill person trying to kill people?
This is a tragedy, but it seems like the media is trying to maximize shock value - yet again. What purpose does this serve? Are we really any better off as a country by allowing the press to exploit such a tragedy?

Of far more importance than the expressed "hurt feelings" of the team members, and the pomposity of the two Reverends (who have arrogantly thrown the first stone many times previous to this), is the punishment of an American Citizen who has a right to free speech fair, and within the boundries of the Constitution? Imus has been an equal opportunity insulter and debaser for years...sometimes he is funny, sometimes he is not. We all have the right and the opportunity to disagree with his remarks. However, do we have the right to close him down?...to fire him?...to punish him?...to treat him like a criminal when no law has been broken?...to make him the scapegoat for something he said that we personally dislike?
The distruction of our Bill of Rights would be a less messy way of defeating our country for those who would destroy it. Is that what has truly happened? Perhaps Sharpton, Jackson and Roker, along with the sponsors and the networks involved should be charged with treason.

After the tragic shootings yesturday gun lobbyists are saying that gun control should be RELAXED. This seems insane to me. They claim that if the students had been allowed to carry guns then they would have been able to defend themselves, I think it would have lead to further panic and with panic probably more deaths as people would have shot in terror, it would probably have lead to a mass shoot out in my opinion.

I've read today about the Constitution and the RIGHT to bear arms, but having the right to do something doesn't make it compulsory.
So what fuels the desire? Is it image, fear, aggression or what?

I know it's in the constitution but surely after what's happened they should amend it? After the Dunblane (Scotland)shootings all handguns were taken from licenced owners (the owners were compensated for this). Would this help if the same was done in America?

Lets see, judging from the video clips and testimony, the police's inaction caused the deaths of an unknown amount of students.Correct me if I am wrong, but as a swat team member, you are SWORN to protect and serve the lives of civilians, even at the cost of your life.So judging from all the standing around debating what to do,these officers apparently were more worried about their own skins than charging the building and taking the shooter or shooters out by force. Now why would that be?You would think bullet proof vests, shields, and having guns themselves would give a man the courage to try and save as many people as he could.Imagine what the parents of the dead students would have done had they known and been there to try and save their child's lives. And it is a good bet, that even without the benefit of protection, they would have charged in and at least TRIED to stop the shooting and save as many as they could. As far as the school goes, sounds like they are more like the govt, trying to hide

At the Minneapolis/Saint Paul airport since 2002 there are almost 5,000 REPORTED cases of passengers being refused service in cabs driven by Muslim drivers simply because they carred alcohol in their suitcases.

Evidently these drivers feel they have the right to question passengers about their personal effects. If they are not happy with the answers they refuse service which in winter or in the evening or night time, can be a terrible even dangerous thing.
I wonder how Muslim drivers will react if PASSENGERS start asking drivers before they get into a cab..."Are you Muslim?" and if THEY are not satisfied with the answer refuse to get in until they find a NON Muslim driver.

What do you suggest is a way to overcome this Muslim attempt to force their religious beliefs on the people of this coutnry that were kind enough to give them admission?

I bought a flat on 1st floor from a builder in Chennai about 5 years back. Water leaking from the upper floor in to my ceiling after 8 months of purchase. I've contacted the builder to rectify it and even after 1 year follow up he has not rectified it. Finally I have given written complaint and he gave me quotation to bare the expenses myself. However I did it on my own with some other person.
I want to know what is the guaranty period and can I go for consumer court for the negligence of work by builder as it is due to the construction problem.
