I would like to know what the stance is that the NRA takes concerning the Patroit Act.

The answer above is not true at all. Although many NRA members are in the GOP, there are some NRA members that are Democrats. However, the NRA does support the Patriot Act, but they are not all GOP members.

The NRA doesn't take positions on anything other than laws that concern ownership and use of firearms. There are some provisions of the Patriot Act that they have voiced concerns with, but as a whole, their stance is neutral on it.

They have no issues with it because it violates no ones rights to bear arms as far as they are concerned.
