Cybeq: Do I have to remind you of Columbine. The NRA came to colorado a week after that happened and it was not previously scheduled. Its ok for them to have a politcal opinion about guns, but they shouldn't show boat their political opinion and rub it in the face of a community in morning.... Guns are most certainly the issue in both this and columbine. That was the weapon used to masacare people... Do you really think that any of these events could of happened if the killers used a freaking knife? In both cases none of these young people should have ever have gotten their hands on a weapon.

Shirley: that is not the issue even if most of these students owned guns they wouldn't be allowed to bring them to class.... And on a side note. I am a wrestler and a black belt in Tang Soo Du.. So if you want some self defense lessons I could certainly give you some.

Usaf: I agree with you that if these guys weren't totally off their rockers then this would never have happened. But the world is always going to have people that are off the wall insane and we won't always be able to know who they are. I just argue that the laws should be tougher to obtain handguns until we are able to start weeding out these insane people before they are able to pull a mass killing off.

Chris M.: Good Idea... Maybe we can make a trapper keeper with a gun holster on it........ Seriously Chris if think the students having guns would have made the situation any safer you truely are retarded (and probably should never be given a fire arm). It would have meant that more bullets would have been flying in all different directions.

Do you know if the perpetrator at VT was legally licensed to carry a handgun? Not everybody is able to legally obtain handguns and even fewer are allowed concealed weapons permits, I haven't heard if he legally obtained his guns yet.

the shooter didnt even carry ID on him. do you think he used a registered fire arm to comitt this crime. not that it would have mattered. the little puss shot himself before their could be a shoot out with him and the cops. I think his name should never be released. dont give this guy the publicity that he wants. make it another top secret government issue.

Guns ARE NOT the issue, the IDIOTS behind the gun is the issue.
MUST I REMIND YOU, that those at Columbine had PROPANE TANKS too.
Are we now going to outlaw and require registration of propane tanks????

I'm sure they already have a strong presence in the Blacksburg area. That western part of Virginia is big time, Bush Country.

Hell lets do it today! I will protect my right to bear arms. If any of the students or professors would have been armed, a lot of lives may have been spared.
Typical tree hugger argument... I don't agree with you, and you have no answer, so you insult me personally. You have anger issues. Stay off of college campuses, and my yard.

Yea, how dare the NRA try and uphold our constitutional right to own fire arms.
Heck, next you'll be whining about someone trying to uphold our right to free speech.

Heston rocks. If the NRA has a rally scheduled it will go on. This tragedy has nothing to do with guns or the NRA or Heston.
