explain exactly what happened incude weather conditions. condition of the road/traffic etc. also draw an accurate diagram of the area showing the positions of your own vehicle and the third party's vehicle at the time of the collision. incude the names and contact numbers of any witnesses. also explain breifly what was said in any conversation between yourself and the other driver-but most importantly never admit liability-even if the odds are stacked against you.

Tell the truth.
Anything else would be just dishonest. Of course that is why everyone pays so much for insurance.
