Why is it when an unknown person has sex with an underage girl - the are condemned to be a "sex offender"; HOWEVER, when a famous person does the same thing (Errol Flynn, Kelsey Grammar, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis)... They are - at the worst - eccentric and it only helps their career in the end?

I have so far waited 33 days for paypal to review a dispute, I provided them with tracking details and then they ruled in favour of the buyer, I then appealed against this, I had an email admitting they could trace the parcel on the DHL website and they would appeal it for me, and that was 33 days ago...... it's not the money (it was about £20) its the principle. I've heard of small claims court but don't know much about it, do you think I could do it ? any advice would be appreciated - I am sick of waiting!!!

Arizona Lawmakers Bar Human Egg Sales
PHOENIX - State representatives voted Monday to make it illegal for a woman to sell her eggs, but refused to impose similar restrictions on men selling their sperm.

The House of Representatives said that a woman who sells her eggs could be sent to prison for up to a year and fined up to $150,000. The same penalty would apply to any organization or doctor who made the purchase.

Lawmakers also gave preliminary approval to a companion measure requiring that before women even donate their eggs, they be informed of medical risks. Here, too, legislators refused to warn men of the potential legal and ethical risks of donating sperm, including the possibility that a child born from the donation could seek them out and demand support.

Rep. Bob Stump, R-Peoria, said both measures are necessary to protect the health of women. But several female legislators reacted angrily, saying this is really a question of whether lawmakers are going to treat men and women the same.

"I don't understand why a man could go out and sell part of his reproductive body ... that a man can go and make money, but I as a woman cannot do it," complained Rep. Linda Lopez, D-Tucson, about the measure criminalizing the sale of human eggs.

Women could make a fair amount of money from selling their eggs. One classified ad in a Phoenix-area publication offered up to $24,000.
Stump said the disparate treatment is justified. And, he said, it has "nothing to do with gender politics." He said there is a medical risk from the procedure of donating eggs, from both the hormones injected into women to produce multiple mature eggs and the harvesting procedure. "I would wager there's not one recorded instance of someone dying from donating or selling sperm," Stump declared during the House floor debate. "In fact, it's more dangerous for a man to cross the street than to donate sperm."

Stump conceded that the medical risk remains the same whether the eggs are donated or sold. And nothing in his legislation makes donation illegal.

But Stump said there is one difference. Human eggs can be used not only for in vitro fertilization to help a childless couple conceive - like sperm - but also can be used "for the express purpose of destroying cloned human embryos" for medical research.

Stump, in his two years at the Capitol, has waged a campaign to create legal impediments to cloning. Besides these two measures, last year he pushed through a ban on the use of state funds or facilities.
Rep. Kyrsten Sinema, D-Phoenix, said there is no reason to have one set of laws for men and another for women.

Lopez, who raised the issue of "informed consent" for sperm donors, did not argue that there are no medical risks from the procedure. But she said there are other potential risks to men, including financial risk if a court were to determine that the biological father - if he could be traced - had some financial obligation to the child.
Final roll-call votes on both issues, expected later this week, will send them to the Senate.

My boss is a bit of a jack the lad (or jackass). A few months ago just before xmas I got very very drunk and ended up kissing him in the office. I could barely remember anything that happened that night, all I know is that something happened. He promised me that nothing really happened and that he wouldnt tell anyone.
Now I have recently found out that he has been implying to people in my office that we are carrying on together and it has spread throughout the entire building. I am very very angry and I was very upset after it all happened - which he knew. I am waiting to speak to a union rep but I only just joined today. What are my rights?

My daugher was involved in a major auto accident on 5-25-03.
It was her vehical. First the other kids in the car told the Deputy she was driving. Later 2 of the other kids told her attny. that the other person in the car was the one driving. No charges were ever brought against him. My question is-who can we contact to have things investigated as to why. Our local Sherrifs Dept. really handled things all wrong. We were informed by them last week, that there was nothing they would do because time had run out on the statue of limitations. Is this true? We thought it was 7 years. Please any information would be great. Our daughters mental/physical health needs some closure.
Thanks

My wife works for a company that has a contract with one of the UK supermarket companies, which requires her to work in one of the supermarket's stores. She is employed solely by the contractor, not the supermarket. One of the supermarket employees, who has no direct supervision or any other working relationship with her, has put in a number of unfounded complaints about my wife's work to the store's management and

The contractors have no problem with my wife's work, she is regularly praised and they have told her that they do not want to lose her.

Unfortunately, things have got so bad that my wife had to walk out of her job yesterday. We have discussed filing a constructive dismissal claim against the supermarket but as she is not employed by them we don't think that they would do anything. My wife has escalated this to the contractor's owners and is awaiting a reply.

My question is - is there any clause in UK law that protects the right of contractors in this case?

I know that forgiveness is right, but I remember that he hugged and tried to kiss me, I get very angry. I met him at the lobby of the courthouse. My lawyer was not there. I know he had been trying to call and ask forgiveness, but I changed my number. I can ask for some money from him so that I will get money, then back out from the case, making him scot free. He knows I am not interested in money. That must be making him nervous. He is a lawyer. If this case reaches the ears of particular people, he might get disbarred. I still do respect him. But how can I even talk to him? I feel angry and disgusted when I remember what he did

So which is it? Does my statutory right to put up a satellite dish on any wall of my own property as set out in the Tenements (Scotland) Act allow me to ignore this condition in the deeds or would I be subject to breach of the term even though I have the statutory right. I thought that an Act of Parliament is the highest law of the land in the UK and by that reasoning a statutory right is the highest right you can have. Am I correct?
