I think you certainly have a strong case. You can now do the small claims court totally online here: https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/csmco2/index.jsp
It's very straightforward to claim your money from the comfort of your own home!
I'd say it is well worth a try as it won't cost you anything!
First of all though, write PayPal a letter stating why you think they owe you money and give them lets say, two weeks to pay you. Then state that youn will be initiating a small claims coourt proceeding if the money does not reach you by this date. State as many facts and figures to support your claim.
Send the letter recorded delivery.
If no reply, then fill in thpose forms online and get it sent!
It's important that people stand up to large organisations! They are not above the law!
Best of luck!

You cannot decide what claim to bring, the court does. There are three types of claim: the small claims track which includes claims of less than £5,000. The winning party cannot usually claim costs or damages but the procedure is relatively straight forward.
If the claim is defended then the judge will decide whether to allocate it to the fast track or multi track. This is where it gets expensive. If the claim is for no more than £15,000 and there are no complicated points of law then it will probably be allocated to the fast track.
Paypal would proably involve complicated points of law as it involves altrnative dispite procedures and on-line payments. It will probably be assigned to the multi track. A relatively modest sum of £20 could very easily turn into a claim for around £25,000.
Is it worth it? The application fee for a small claim is £120.
Do they have a complaints procedure?

If you have a good enough case and a good enough lawyer... why not!!! You can sue somebody for wearing red shoes if your lawyer was good enough.
Of course, you can't use lawyers in small claim courts.
You will probably pay out more than 20 pounds - so even if you do win, you lose.
But you said it was the principle (that is what small claim courts a great for - principals), so if you don't mind spending some money... why not.

First piece of excellent suggestion: in no way, ever or under any situations have faith PayPal. they have screwed 1000's of individuals purely such as you in basic terms have been given screwed. I discovered that the no longer hassle-free way too. next, in case you examine the positive print on your PayPal contract you will locate all legal movements are under California jurisdiction. legal movements might desire to be filed in California. you may attempt submitting on your community civil or small claims court docket and that i wish you the ideal of success with it. yet i've got faith you will get nowhere. One suggestion in spite of the fact it is to attempt submitting a declare with the submit place of work. they say it grew to become into introduced however the recipient claims it wasn't. Get the feds in touch and you will possibly desire to shake something unfastened.

You can take anyone to the small claims court - but it'll probably cost you more than £20 to do it (although if you won, they'd have to pay your costs).
If it's the principle, then keep on complaining - make a nuisance of yourself. Not much more you can really do, unfortunately.

I don't think you can. I believe that the contract that you sign in paypal states that you will agree to abide by the findings in a dispute. You may want to look it over again.

To be honest, as crap as it is for you, I wouldnt waste my time with them. They are a worldwide multi million pound company, I dont think they will be that worried about a £20 claim to be honest. You can try it, but I think it will probably end up costing you a lot more than your claim. However, you can try it, they may be kind enough to just cough up, but dont hold your breath.

Close your account with pay pal and when you close it they will ask you why.... put down your complaint and maybe the right person will help you, as for court yes you can take anyone to court but you should know they will have attorneys that will do all their litigating.

i think it would be very costly for you to take such a big company to small claims over a rather small sum of money. But you could get a solicitor to write a nasty letter to them regarding the dispute asking for compensation - that should be enough to get their attention.
LOL
